Link reclamation is the process of locating, contacting and fixing broken links on your company website and other websites with links pointing to yours.

Carrying out a link reclamation project is necessary any time content is removed, URLs are changed, or the website is redesigned. To determine whether a website requires it, investigate the results from the “Top Pages” tab in Open Site Explorer for the root domain of the website.

Google Disavow Tool Should be your last resort i mean you don't want to tell google hey i have these spam links can you please look at them and punish me

, Spam Links can also come from user's like i am currently working on a local brand they never had an SEO working for them, By February 2013 i had 5200 Dofollow Links By May 18 Surprisingly 7700 Dofollow, i never build any i was busy in doing their site optimization and internal ratio of more than 10K Webpages, Should i be telling google hey this guy has hundreds of backlinks from low quality domain his customers have shared with, off course they were and currently created by users but does not count original, contradicting isn't it lol

Link reclamation is the process of locating, contacting and fixing broken links on your company website and other websites with links pointing to yours. The only tools needed for a link reclamation project are Microsoft Excel and Open Site Explorer.
