If you have the time to spend for doing your own backlinks then my suggestion is to promote your site in social media. First thing is the need to have an active account in Facebook or Twitter, those 2 social media network are the most potent. Post about your website once a week for your friends to react. Make your post interesting and attractive to avoid being suspected of spamming. The links you have established will be considered quality backlinks.
