    Should you anchor link text when backlinking?

    Is it necessary to vary anchor link text when backlinking? How often do you change the anchor text? For instance, do you have different anchor text on each site that you backlink from?

    You should always vary up your anchor text when backlinking, not just always using the same keywords. Google is getting smarter about detecting spam. Try some generic anchor texts, such as click here (when linking to your site/pages) in addition to keyword rich anchor text.

    Maybe you can use your anchor text on the most important sites for backlinks, such as edu blogs which allow. That way it will have more impact with Google.

    You should vary your anchor text or build link on your url, for example "www.yoursite.com".

    You need to vary your anchor text with at least 10 versions. I have heard recommendations of 100 though.

    anchor texts? nope! What You saying guys! never use them, google see it as a spam technique. Do something like that:
    I have found informations about <keywords> and <keywords> here : <link>, maybe it will help You.
    You don't spam, add Your link only in place where people can use it.

    It's always a best practice to have a diverse diluted anchor text portfolio. Be sure to use variations of your keyword, domain, and remember to use generic anchors to stay in G's good graces.

    I don't backlink much but when I do, I try to think of a unique anchor text to use every time.
