What is the meaning of competitive analysis?

Competitive analysis does the comparison, between the website I am optimizing, and the website that is ranked highly in search results.

Yes, but i want to add with you, competitive analysis is what the competitor of my websites. FOr the seo , at first you have to check the competitor of your websites. It is called competitive analysis. Go to search box & type "your keywords" & search now, then you can see search result . if you see more result, for this keywords, that means your competitors are more. So most important for optimizing is keywords.
