    How long should my meta description be?

    I want to include a meta description for my blog but I'm not sure how long it should be. Can you give me advice on what information would go into this area?

    It should let the crawler of search engine know what your website is all about :
    you should include only things which are most important in your website for which you have made the website :
    For example you are having website to sell clothes :
    then description should be max for about 1 or 2 lines talking on clothes and stuff you have or the things you have linked in keywords ..Example:
    Description: We xxxxxxx.com are best in --- clothes,you can find lot of ---,--,--,-- at best price and wide range on xxxxxxxxxx.com ...

    Make your meta description more like a short sales presentation (a hundred words or so), that includes information useful to a search engine user. The description might not influence your position in search, but it is likely to be seen and should include all relevant information about your site including details of you product line.

    Your meta description should be approximate 160 charterer long.
    And it will be like hold meaning of your whole page within two lines.

    Meta Description contain brief and detailed information of website which we want to present for the user. Meta Description should me between 160 to 170 character.

    two to three lines is enough but now days google not relay on mega tags much it only help in indexing there other ways to rank after last google update
