    Google Glass

    Google is now selling the Google glasses once again. They are willing to sell to anyone in the USA. Last month they hosted a one day sale where it was said that the only time anyone would be able to purchase their own set of glasses. It is only available on the google website. The cost of the glasses is $1500. There is no word how many sets were sold last month during the one day sale. However, since they have come out, there have been about 10,000 sets purchased.

    These glasses come in five different colors. There is a thumbsized screen just above the right eye. Users are able to check them emails, as well as Twitter accounts, and get directions with the glasses.

    Google is also planning on releasing another version of the glasses by the end of the year.

    Google glasses cost about $153 to make. However, extensive design and engineering have upped the cost to the steeper price.

    I'm not sure there would be any practical reason for these Google glasses, though maybe someone else can see a purpose. I just don't think i would ever use them for any reason.

    And, they look like regular prescription glasses? That could be an interesting thing to have in classroom for quick look up of a subject without having to access your tablet or computer.

    When the Google Glass came out in the market, there was a hype that I thought it will be the glasses of the future. But the hype did not convert into sales. I haven’t seen a Google Glass personally although I have seen the photos and had read the detailed description. In fairness, the design is hi-tech and the purpose is noble. However, people just don’t find any use for the Google Glass especially with the cost consideration that it is not worth the money. That’s another failed product of Google.
