Well why do you want them removed? If they are not online anymore but they still appear indexed they will eventually get deleted from the index.

But if you really want to delete them, do this via Google Webmaster Tools. It will take less them 24 hours to get any link deleted.

You need to ensure that the outdated pages return a status of either 404 (not found) or 410 (gone) in the header. These status codes tell Googlebot that the requested URL isn't valid

The removal of the indexing of an old site happened to the office website of my husband. They were wondering why there are searchers for the site that yields the old site instead of the current site. From what they know they have already deleted the old site and it is a wonder why the home page of the old site still appeared. It was more than a year of persistence so we cannot say that it will be eventually deleted by Google.
