    What if your site ranked high on Bing but not Google?

    Would you still get a decent amount of traffic if your site ranked highly on Bing instead of Google Search?

    Yes, it would, but not as much. Google is MUCH more popular than Bing. If you go to the Wiki page about search engines, it will show you that about 82% of people using search engines use Google, followed by Yahoo (powered by bing) , at about 6%, and in 4th, Bing with 4%, so bing takes up about 10%, where as Google, 82%.

    the majority of bing traffic are very well targeted, and convert easily
    so yeah being in first page in bing with good keyword that have decent amount of searches, it is pretty good.

    I would feel glad that it ranked high but would be disappointed as well since there are so many more that actually like google over bing.

    Search engine traffic comprises only a small portion of my traffic, by choice and design not chance.

    I don't rely on either search engine as both are fickle with their rankings.

    Though to answer your question, you are better off ranking higher in Google and would receive hardly no traffic from Bing as a result of your listing.

    I doubt if there would be a site high enough on bing and without being on google's first page. Remember for a site to rank high on any search engine, it is in fact providing what users are looking for. Thus, all search engines would be directing traffic to it since that is where the stuff people are looking for is located.

    That usually does not happen. Because Bing keeps eye on google search. So any site not indexed in google is likely to be dropped on bing too. So they are going to be treating pretty much equal to all the sites. I think those who don't have ranking on google that means site needs to be considering the ranking in different way. Because in some cases brands rank better and in some cases they don't.

    Search engines, particularly the major ones, have their own algorithm that changes from time to time. That is the reason for the differences in results of their search list. And there are times that the result can be similar maybe because their algorithm have been changed and became similar with each other. Normally, however, your website can rank high in Google but has a low ranking in Bing or vice versa. But uploading good contents regularly can change the ranking for the advantage of your website on both search engines.

    I'm thinking that it is the reverse. If your website ranks high in Bing, it may rank lower in Google because Bing as much less competition. Someone has to find out the profile of people searching on Bing, or just try it out. The tricky part is that traffic does not mean conversion. I think you need to do your own testing and find out what works. I don't think there is a hard and fast rule and I think that less is known about Bing because fewer people use it.
