When you work as a freelancer you can set your own schedule. Since you do not work in an office or business premises, there is no set time when you need to be at work. And you do not have to factor in the time required to travel to the place of work. So effectively you can sleep late.
But do you do this, or do you still wake up early so as to start off your day as early as possible?
Personally I wake up at about 7am, and I start as soon as I get my cup of coffee!

I'll start by checking my emails and responding to whatever needs a quick response and delete all the junk I've gotten over the night. I have a lot of my support emails forwarded to my personal email so I can check everything in one spot. If something needs to be responded to I'll log into my websites cpanel/email and respond from there. Well when I wake up I need at least 10 minutes to sit and stare into nothingness before my brain is able to function normally! I have to make a cup of tea to get the old pistons (brain cells) firing properly. After this though I'm good to go and usually start working within about 10-15 minutes of being awake. I'll never just jump straight onto the computer though. I'll perhaps go outside into the garden for 5 minutes, breath in some fresh air, give thanks for my day and then I'm ready to start working. Whether that be working on peoples/clients orders or for myself. I hate getting up too late and feeling like I've missed half the day. But sometimes when I'm working until like 4AM or something I will need at least 8 hours sleep minimum or I just wont be able to function properly for a while longer so quickly but I still try to get up around 9AM at least even if I'm not working that day because as nice as it is to sleep in sometimes, I feel like I've missed half the day so I gotta get up! :)

Once all of that is done, I then go through and deliver any orders that are complete! By the time I am finished it is usually between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. and I get to spend the rest of my day with my family, while checking and responding to orders every hour or sooner!
I wake up early, (thanks to my 3 little alarm clocks) anywhere between 6 a.m. - 7 a.m. I immediately come to the computer and start answering all orders I have received throughout the night, I then go through every page of my orders to see if there are any orders that clients have questions on. Then I start answering any questions or concerns I have in my inbox. After I have taken care of all of that, I begin all the new orders that have come in (while my wonderful wife makes my kids and I breakfast) !!:D Once all of that is done, I then go through and deliver any orders that are complete! By the time I am finished it is usually between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. and I get to spend the rest of my day with my family, while checking and responding to orders every hour or sooner!
