Because people are becoming dumber. We are DEvolving due to machines that calculate for us, and are slowly replacing us.

I have friends I grew up with who now teach in schools who have told me that the tests we took in high school they can no longer give to students because they wouldn't be able to pass them. We now emphasize a "feel good" education where we pat a student on the back for at least trying instead of pushing them to try harder. As a result we are now graduating students who can barely read at an elementary school level and often make very basic spelling mistakes like "teh" instead of "the".

We have spell check programs instead of learning how to spell. We use "chat speak" text sentences to the point where garbage like "R u my frend." becomes an acceptable sentence.

Society, as a whole, is becoming stupider and the average IQ level is about 10 points lower than it was a couple generations ago, which then becomes the accepted average.

I constantly see grammar and spelling errors even in articles written by professionals in news stories daily. I "SMH" and wonder where we are headed when so many people mangle English into garbled sentences to the point where I can barely understand what someone is saying, and sometimes not even then.

The movie "Idiocracy" is becoming more and more closer to reality every year.

i believe it is because most ,esp the newbies, do not read the rules , terms and conditions before beginning any operation on this site. like majority of them dont know that some services are banned from this site.

The first thing that I always do on my visit to any site is to read the terms and conditions guiding them instead of trying to work on such sites and getting some issues in the future. This is the part many always fail to do and that's a bad attitude.

This reminds me of our housemaid who either forgets or misunderstands the instruction that I give. That usually happens when she goes to the market for an errand. What I do now is to make her write down my instructions so she will have a reference in case she forgets something. The written instructions did the trick although she still commits mistakes every now and then but not that rampant anymore.
