If I go on Facebook, my friends will try to talk to me, even when I need to be working. So I ban Facebook from my browser until after all work is done and I'm caught up on what I need to do.

Facebook can be a big distraction for me too, especially if a friend of mine has said they will be online at a certain time to chat. Then I have Facebook open. It can be annoying if they don't bother logging on. Makes me not want to be on Facebook at all. For now, I'm just focusing on family and work and less on Facebook friends.

Facebook, checking emails frequently, checking your forum pm frequently, these are main distranction in work, you should focus on your main work first.

Yes there are many distractions that I face. But in reality the distractions that I have are just a part of life. such as family and friends. and you can not live without them in my opinion so they are a good distraction.

Of course, Tionna is right. Family is more important than this stuff. However, if you have a family, why not make a website/blog that involves all of them. When my step-daughter was much younger, she got into growing crystals. So I could have set up a website/blog on that where I talk about the science-y stuff and the safety issues, my step-daughter could have provided the pictures and opinions and my wife could have talked about the practicalities of where to put them in a busy house so they didn't get knocked over as well as the educational value.
