Anything related to health conditions or diseases is a popular topic and is easy to monetize with affiliate products or Adsense. It will just depend on what you like to write about. Think about that first before you try to start a blog.

You might not specifically blog about what you intend to sell as a niche.I think we should chose a niche that we're passionate about not because of an affiliate program.Choose a niche you're good with.Then pick an affiliate program and write a review about it. This sounds better to me,

There are some niches that are more profitable than others. For instance, advertisers put more money on the ads related to business, finance, health, travel. Therefore, if you publish on these niches, adsense will place ads related to these niches. Ads on these niches have high click through rate.
However, you can choose any niche and make it profitable. There is no point in having a blog in business niche and not getting enough traffic. It makes sense to have a blog on entertainment niche (the least profitable niche) that has high ad clicks rate
