Would Google come up with a Wordpress style blog script?

Not everyone wants to run a blog on Blogger.com, preferring to use an independently hosted script like Wordpress on their own site. But, what if Google came up with their own blog script. Would you install or use it?

There are some blogging platforms that are already out which would easily surpass the Wordpress capabilities. Maybe Google could buy one of these and make it their own.

I think yes. Google bough Blogspot from third party company and made it a free blogging platform. It can also buy third party script and make it open source just like wordpress. Over the yeard Google has increased its portfolio by procuring programs and services or developing them. I believe wordpress like CMS is already under the sleeve.
