A blog is so much easier to update and usually ranks better in search engines (except for maybe really big commercial/shopping sites).

I must say that blogging is the easiest way one can own a website and that is the reason that I settled on it. I just find it comfortable for me.

Just by the name of the static site, you will already get the impression that it is stagnating and therefore has no influence with the search engines and that is not good in relation to the traffic. With a blog, you have to regularly upload contents otherwise your readers will leave. A blog is written to be read and there is direct connection between the blogger and the reader. In terms of traffic, the blog is a good one that can earn you money.
