Do you comment on other blogs for traffic?

Does it help to comment on other blogs? Not talking about spam comments or mass backlinking, but really taking an effort to get involved with other related niche blogs and comment in a meaningful way.

I think that it does help to comment on other blogs. It gives your site more traffic. I agree with you that you need to use related niches.

It's a good way to create a good professional relationship or connection to other bloggers within your niche. Most especially if you have something to share or add in the conversation.

An excellent point. And, there is a good chance that other bloggers in your niche will look upon you favorably for contributing such high quality comments to their blog and visit your newest posts to read them. It might be even possible other bloggers would mention your blog/posts on their own blog, especially if you got a chance to break industry news.

I think this is the best way to get comments for your blog.Most bloggers that I know would reciprocate when you post a comment on their
blogs although you have to understand that your blogs should be interesting to
them. The theme of my blog is dogs and animals and if I post a comment on a
blog about business then I might not get a reciprocating comment. And maybe it
is also a good idea to join blogger groups.

That was the way I started out my blogging. I mean is by commenting on popular blogs that I got to make some of the visitors there aware of my blog and it worked great for me at that moment.
