Have you tried a post the most contest?

On one of my favorite forums, they are having a post the most to win contest.

Do you think this is a good way to generate new posts? How do you run this type of contest so that it doesn't result in spam?

Make it so that everyone participating in the contest has to register their interest in the contest by posting on your contest thread. This will limit who is participating to those who have registered and in that way you can monitor the posts made by only those people, rather than posts made on entire forum.

I had seen such a contest in one local forum that my husband had joined. The prize is actually a small item but the participants were eager for the honor. However, the tally of the results showed that most of the posts were not really spam but appeared like spam because there was no substance. Obviously, most of the posts were posted just for the sake of posting. And it took time to decide the winner.

Yep, won 5 times already in posting contests of different sites. But nowadays I can't seem to find sites which have posting contests anymore. The last time I've won was early 2018.
