    Do you think that email marketing is as effective as social media marketing?

    Considering what most people use, email open rates, click through rates, and other elements of these two forms of marketing, which do you think is the most effective? Would you decide to choose just one of these techniques, or combine both of these options? Which of them has the most response rate and better engagement?

    Personally i think email marketing is very popular and powerful these days , but i could say the same thing for social media marketing. Comparing email marketing with social media marketing... promoting in social media i think has more visibility than email marketing, but not always.

    Also , email marketing it looks more professional and has more presence i think....

    Email marketing is definitely golden if you can do it right. Trying to avoid that dreaded "Spam" button is getting harder and harder nowadays and with just one click on it I feel that a new email account could be doomed.

    If you can build a good opt in list and not spam it every day with new offers, I would think you could rake in a decent amount of cash. I know I have in the past when I was building super targeted lists. I would use facebook ads to build my lists and have my mailchimp account set up to send auto emails once or twice a week for about 2 months. After the 2 months was up I would definitely see a huge ROI since I optimized my facebook ads for the lowest CPC but highest sign up rate. It takes time, but you can do it.

    As for social media optimization/marketing I would say this is becoming more of the main way of marketing online due to all of the smart phones and apps out there. How many people do you know that don't have a smart phone? Your grandma? Yeah, not too many Do you think that email marketing is as effective as social media marketing?

    Marketing on social media platforms is also much easier. You can do everything you need to if you just have a smart phone and an internet connection. Set up your account or page, download the social platforms app, start posting. You can even use third party services to automate every post you want. I'd advise using one that doesn't scrape content but lets you put content in the software and set when it will post. This is a similar method to the auto emails sent out by mailchimp, but on social media ;)

    So in the end, I think that if you're good with both email marketing and social media marketing then you have a win win combo since some people prefer email and the others prefer social media.

    Social media campaigns can be much cheaper to run since you can do everything for free if you want. The only real costs are for the phone and your internet connection but most people need that to be online anyway. Email marketing campaigns can cost a decent amount of money since there is not easy and cost efficient way to build an email list.

    I think if email marketing is done correctly, then it is a decent option but I think social media marketing is a much better option. This is because there are a lot of spammy emails and scams so I think this affects people's trust on the emails they receive. For example, I hardly ever look at offers when company send me email and if a company keep sending me newsletters with advertisement, I will report that as spam. However, for social media advertisement, if I see something interesting, I will click on it. I have tried emailing newsletters to my members on my forum with all the latest updates and I hardly get many old members back onto my forum.

    On the other hand, social media is popular these days; nearly everyone is on social media and it is relatively cheap to advertisement on them. You can advertise on Facebook for as cheap as $5 which would get you a good number of clicks. Whereas, with email marketing, how many people would actually open the email and go on your website? I think the number is small. Also, email marketing is rather expensive compare to social media marketing so I think social media marketing is more cost effective.

    I personally think that social media marketing can be much more effective than email marketing. Simply because using social media you can reach much more people much quicker than you can using email marketing. First of all you have to get their email address. You can only really do that in one of several ways which include buying email lists but that doesn't guarantee all the emails will be active let alone interested in the offers/products/emails that you send them. The other way is by getting people to subscribe/opt in to your email newsletters via your site. But in order for that to happen, you need to actually promote your site / do SEO on it to get them in the first place.

    One sure fire way to promote your site and get subscribers to your newsletters is to use social media sites. So in effect, it's social media sites that get you the subscribers in which you can send your emails to. Also these are going to be much more interested in your products if they subscribed via one of your social media channels or posts that you was promoting. Especially if they are double opt-ins. Plus by using social media, you can send visitors to your actual site or products that you might want them to visit in your emails anyway.

    I would say then that they go hand in hand with each and one should not favor any way other the other but rather use them both as a way to market your products/services etc safely. It would seem daft if you just used email marketing only and never done any marketing in which to get subscribers for that you could even email anyway. Back before social media existed, to get email subscribers you had to advertise in another way or do SEO and get good rankings for something so you can start collecting email subscribers in the first place.

    And I wouldn't say that email marketing looks more professional as invariably emails are usually just simple raw text based messages unless you use a little HTML in them but if you do that many of them will get flagged as spam. Just something to consider. Do you think that email marketing is as effective as social media marketing?

    I would use both of the techniques but I truly believe that social media marketing is a better option. It has been for me at least, which is why I recommend social media marketing instead of email marketing. With that being said, I'm not an email marketing expert and I'm more comfortable with social media marketing, so to pick one is easy for me. Email marketing is outstanding though, if you're good at it, but I believe it's getting harder and harder to get your mails through the spam filters and sending emails that ends up in the junk folder isn't going to help you. Social media marketing on the other hand, isn't something you should be taken lightly either. It requires knowledge and proper "know how" and "how to" just like email marketing does.

    I don't think email marketing is as effective as social media marketing because social media has more power and you can promote with various social media platforms.
    In order to succeed with email marketing you need a big list. Having a big list may not be enough, the list must include clients who actually buy the services and products you are selling. When you send email, your subscribers need to check your emails, they must not only open the emails, but also click the links.
    How much successful you can be with social media marketing depends on how many followers you have. Your followers must be big as well as people genuinely interested in your product and services.

    For me, social media is the most potent when it comes to connecting to people. Even offline businesses are now slowly shifting to social media for their marketing. Email is still okay but the mortality rate, i.e. being considered spam, is very high. Maybe just less than 10% of the email you send out will be opened and less than half of the opened will be read in full. And you have to be extremely creative with email otherwise you won't get a chance to be opened.

    In order to benefit from email marketing, your list should be very big. You also need to have people genuinely interested in your product or service. There is no point in sending emails promoting clothes to the people interested only in gaming. If you have genuine subscribers and regularly send emails, email marketing can be very effective.

    If you can be able to get the email links of those that are into the type of business that you wish to market, then I do not see any reason email marketing can't be as effective as social media marketing. This is something that has proven itself over time that once we get the right audience, things tend to change for the better.
