I think for SEO the keyword research is finding the best keyword that you can tag your new content for uploading. That particular web page will have more chances with the search engine when someone would search that particular keyword. With the PPC or pay-per-click type of advertising the keyword is almost the same in importance although I cannot see the direct relationship of the keyword with the advertisement.
