    i have come across to know that we can increase our web page prominence.
    so, i want to know that what are the methods that can increase web page prominence and also at what level it can be increased ?
    i have recently heard about cross linking between pages. i want to know that what is cross linking and how one can do that ?

    My understanding of your term website prominence is the traffic that your website gets. If I am correct in my assumption then you need to do SEO work on your site. First on my list of SEO methods is the uploading of fresh contents which is unique and not copied from another site. Make sure that the content is well written with no spelling mistake. Also, it should be directly related to the niche of your site. You can also add keywords when uploading to increase the chances of getting traffic.
