Can I embed my affiliate codes on site that my friend own?

One of my friend has a decent site where I am thinking of embedding my affiliate code (promotional resources, banners). Will I get payments if any one joins seoclers through this banner? It is ok for me if I use a site that my friend own? Or will it have to be a site that I own?

Yes thats fine to do so as long as you have their permission of course. SEOClerks.com provide some fine promotional material which you can use. Or, if you are creative, you can create your own banners and what not.
