Where or how do I start link building? How do I find relevant and worthwhile sites to approach?

Link building is very much important for seo.It is the most important part of seo .But i have little knowledge about it. I want to start link building for my site and for others also.It'll be great if anyone can suggest me how can i start link building and suggest me some techniques. Thanks.

I absolutely agree with SEOFREAK indexkings.com and tycoos.com are a good place to start from.
Try out these sites for a start and search on google for more sites which offer backlinking services. some are free and some are paid for.
