Google Dance

I have a question. If I write a new article for my blog, and decide that I want to use backlinking on the inner page, does that usually cause the top level website to go through the "google dance" phenomenon?

And to answer to the question..
No will not affect your website in a negative way... If you make from this strategy a constant one you will see some PR increasing but this also depends on many other factors...

As you said it that the Google Dance is a phenomenon that means it is not a regular thing. When Google does an updating of indexing it is like doing a cleanup of the hard disk that nothing is stable until the cleanup is done. I think the updating of indexing take a short time and if you happen to check during that period then the rankings may be out of order. But it will return to normal soon so there is no need to worry.
