    PageRank is officially disabled for the public now and can no longer be seen. As such this faq is redundant and out of date and I'm closing it for any more answers. These days you can use PA/DA, TF/CF as indicators of a domains value in the search engines.

    When was the Page Rank officially not being used anymore? I have read in one discussion that there was no official declaration on this issue and that we we are reading and hearing about the uselessness of the Page Rank is just rumors because the Page Rank is the indicator of the site for the benefit of the Google crawlers. The sites with low Page Rank will not be inspected anymore.

    Yes and no, PR is page rank that Google gives to all indexed websites, automatically calculated from incoming links mostly and external as well. PR is updated (officially) every 3-4 months, but Google knows all the time how big your PR is.

    A site with PR1 can be ranked higher for certain keywords than site with PR3, so PR is less relevant than most people think, but it gives some information that everyone likes to have. For that kinds of questions you will have to open thousands of questions here, I suggest you google for some SEO books.

    depend on your site. if your site for PTR buy sell links etc, pagerank very important,
    if your site about online store affiliate/adsense etc (non PTR) , serp and target visitor is more important

    The answer is NO. You do not need a high Page Rank so be found in search engines in the top results. They're completely different.

    Typically if SEO is right up and going really well you'll have a PR of some kind but you do not at all need it.

    Depends on the competitors for the keywords.
    Generally it is not required as if you work for the ranking of the site in SERP then your page rank will also gradually increase and also with increase in traffic.

    It depends on the situation. a high page rank will carry more weight when adverting, selling advertising space, ect. or trying to sell the website, but I have have seen page with 0 page rank place first in google.
