    All browsing history does is if you visit a site regularly, it will show up higher in the rankings when you search for it! it isn't a true ranking.

    It affects your personal results and not others, if you visited a site before it will come up higher on the SERPs.

    Google's other ranking factors are also still considered. So that Click Web History, and you can enable custom search. . Perhaps over time Google may use this to influence results for everyone a new factor

    Your browsing history shows websites higher up in the search results for you because you've visited that site before. If you log out of Google and clear your browsers cache and cookies and do the same search again, the sites you've visited wont show as high up again. There is some speculation and belief that sites that get the most clicks in search results can get a ranking boost by that. There was one service a while ago that claimed they could boost your ranking by having an army of thousand of people search for something in Google and then click your site in the search results which Google will see and give you some ranking boost because of it. I can see how that makes sense because at the end of the day, if your site is the one getting clicked on the most in the Google SERPs, your site is the one that's most relevant and interesting to the searchers so it ranks your site higher because of that to provide the best, most accurate and relevant sites for the searchers.

    This looks interesting but on second thought why would the history of browsing affect the ranking of the site in the search engines? What is the concern of the search engine crawlers to check on the history of browsing of the web page? I am stumped at this one unless there is someone who would post a convincing explanation about the browsing history vis-à-vis the influence in the search engine ranking.
