    After panda, now Google recently update new algorithm.

    Penguin - the official name Google has given to the webspam algorithm. So what's your opinion on the latest update?

    What do you mean by staying competitive, in what terms? Small content based websites have their own readers and they also get visitors from the search engines. The big sites have also their own customers and I wonder what is the connection of the 2 sites that you said? We are talking of the Google Penguin update and you didn’t even mention the details or reference of the competition.

    This update won't last, I have never seen so many bad opinions about any Google update, I expect most of sites to return in their position after next update.

    I think that Penguin was a failure, it damaged many small businesses.

    It did have an adverse effect on many small business sites that had done everything above board and according to Google's webmaster guidelines only to find they had lost dramatic ranking positions because of it. This did upset a lot of people and put many out of business! But at the same time, it did have a positive effect as well, even though the negative aspect of it outshine that. Because there were a lot of sites ranking high for things, they shouldn't be ranking high for as they weren't relevant to what the searcher was looking or provided a bad experience for them. So Google had to do something about that while trying to be as fair as possible to the sites that hadn't done the same bh SEO on them. But of course, this didnt work out quite as well as expected and did end up negatively effecting the wrong sites too. Since then, they have rolled out updated versions of this algorithm that are supposed to be much more accurate at the way they rank sites. It's just for that for many, the damage had already been done and have given up trying again. I've heard it's also brought about some intended lawsuits as well because it's peoples businesses that were effected and some of those businesses were insured. But you can't sue Google for trying to improve its search engine with a more accurate world of the web to try and make it a better, safer place for people to use. You wouldn't be able to win that argument in course and besides, they have a lot more money to spend on that and you just can't afford to compete.
