Some of us have several email accounts with option to provide signatures.
Your email accounts signature is the first place to start. Put your url there so that the emails you send out will provide backlinks.

Getting .gov and edu sites that are related to your site might take a lot of work and surfing, but it is worth the effort if the sites you coalate do have blogs and forums you can post on.
