    Like I said in your other question - commenting is good, but it is just one way of getting backlinks. You should mix multiple ways so your backlink portfolio appears natural.

That means you have to post a comment that is relevant to the topic and well written with a tinge of creativity to get the interest of the reader whether you are commenting on a blog or on a forum.
