    If you're going to spend money on SEO for Weebly or Blogspot (which will only rank the main domain anyways since the web suffix for the free Sites are usually the Domain name - i.e.:  http://fanfairtrade.weebly.com  OR www.yoursite.blogspot.com

    Then you might as well spend that money on a Domain & a Host instead. It will be worth the investment and it's easy to transfer your Site from the Free Versions (on Blogspot & Weebly) to your own Host/Domain.

    I don't think anyone will spend money to do SEO on a free blogs from weebl, blogspot etc. The OP was asking whether your free blog reach the top list. Your subdomain blog (blogspot, weebly etc) may not reach top for the given keywords, however, your content can appear on the top list of you have used proper keywords that are less competitive yet, have high search volume. I have experience of having my post appear on the top search results. IN order to do that your title should have an exact match with the search query and you should have at least 5 percent krywords.

    Search engines barely consider what domain extension or subdomain the site is using. As long as the site contains unique and original contents with proper optimization (one page and off page), it will give a good rank. If you have an article with a title that properly matches the search query you will get a good rank. I had an article on Hubpages, which was using a subdomain. It always appeared in 1-5th spot on Google.

    I am on hubpages. I have around 150 articles on hubpages and its sister sites. I may residual income from my hubpages articles. Hubpages is basically an article publishing site, where you can publish articles and earn in multiple ways, from hubpages advertising, adsense and amazon affiliate marketing.
