Hello Googleer,
Here's an article I found about: How to Build Backlinks and Drive Traffic with Yahoo! Answers and Other Q&A Websites

That being said, it doesn't cover "how to prevent being banned" instead it describes exactly what you should do to build your reputation, credibility and use yahoo answer to build backlinks, properly, without being banned. It's more or less the same thing, but this article focus on the things you should do to manage to stay away from trouble and gain the most by using yahoo answers the way it's supposed to be used.

As the time that I write this, I don't think that Yahoo Answers is still alive and kicking. I actually don't know anyone that still uses Yahoo Answers. I think that now the popular site that can get you backlinks from answering questions id Quora. In my opinion this has overtaken Google. I would say that the way to avoid getting banned on Yahoo Answers is to provide valuable answers.Don't spam, if you look like you are spamming you will get banned.
