I was about to start installing an affiliate program for some friends because I have lifetime access to AffiliateWP, and then I thought, "What if I could do this as a service? Could it make some money?". In short, it can definitely make you some money but it's not an easy pitch to bring customers on board.
Affiliate marketing is nothing new, but a lot of websites out there don't offer an affiliate program, and this is where you will step in to help them out! You will install an affiliate program, set it up for them to their specifications, and start pushing their products so you can make money from their business!
The Affiliate Program
I recently purchased access to AffiliateWP and have the option to install it on unlimited websites. I currently have it installed on my website only but planned to install it on a friends site, and then I was thinking of selling this as a service and bringing in some additional income.
It's an easy install, activation, and configuration process because it's all user-friendly so it shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to get everything going.
Risk vs. Reward
I could easily install this on dozens of website each day and make a killing, but there are some risks involved with this process. The main risk, which is the only one worth thinking about, is that I could get caught by AffiliateWP and banned from their system for installing my plugin on every website where the owner paid me $XX to do so.
If I were to get banned from the plugin, my affiliate program would not exist anymore, and my affiliates would likely be pretty upset.
The rewards would be that I could easily charge $10 a month, or something like $50 a year, and make a killing day after day but probably get caught quicker the more successful I become. It would be odd to have this affiliate system running on 8,000 different websites when people don't have more than ten they're dedicated to. Hell, people only dedicated themselves to 1 or 2 websites at a time lol 
I'd like to hear what your thoughts are.
- Do you think this could be a good idea?
- Do you think I would get caught doing this and get banned immediately?
- Do you believe AffiliateWP wouldn't be able to track this?
- Do you think the risk is worth the reward?
- What would you do?
