Does this SEO formula still hold true?

Get the keyword in the title, then the title into the first paragraph. Include the keyword somwhere in the middle of what you write and then include it somehow at the end. I was told this when I began content writing years ago. It seemed to work, but, and maybe I am showing a good deal of ignorance here, does it still work? I have not written content for ages, but articles used to get accepted. It would just be nice to know how good the formula is these days.

SEO still works. Many changes have been put in place but SEO is still an issue. Maybe you can check Google updates to be equipped with what is new.

A while back when search results were returned, the keywords in your search query would be highlighted or shown in bold letters in the SERPs. If I am the person seeking information I'd probably click on the first article that contains the keywords in my search query in the first paragraph.

So even if this won't get you better rankings in the SERPs your article will probably draw in more traffic. IMO, for getting your links opened more often, this strategy works.

Thank you. This helps a lot as I am considering how to market an ebook and wanted to figure out how to get the best ranking by writing an article on the book -or one that links to the book, if you see what I mean.

You can experiment with different strategies and have multiple versions of articles which promote your book not just on your blog but also on different sites on the net. You'd be reaching more people this way any way. The articles nonetheless have to be "unique" so they won't be flagged as duplicate content.

Now that's interesting. I never knew there's a formula for that. I'll try to practice this more when I'm given a writing assignment again. I thank you and HappyLady as I've learned something new today. This forum rocks!

Well, check the answers here as my question is whether the formula still works! I was told this years ago on some content mill site. It worked there, but at times I had an idea there was something else i might be missing. The thing is, a lot of people who use a content mill do not want to pay huge prices and probably do not know anything at all except their article needs some SEO (whatever they think it is, they just know "articles need SEO." Therefore, they are probably happy with the article whether the SEO is great or not.

Hi there!
I'm not sure if it still works the same way perfectly as it did before, since times change and everything along with it. But I'd say you'd get more traffic and clicks, for sure. Anyhow, you should give it ago. I believe people will click more often on your given content.

I think these days you should not only aim for the keyword but synonyms or roundabout ways of saying whatever the keyword is. There's so many people using the internet these days and not everyone is going to search in the same manner. It's important to make sure you can really target anyway a person may ask the question or search the topic you're trying to get hits for.

I have been writing several keyword optimization articles recently and funny thing this is the same format that I worked with. I was actually surprised to hear from you that it has been in operation for several years.

It is something that can still work as long as we are ready to follow the rules. This is what is going to bring a whole lot of good results at the end of the day.

No, that is my point. I used it as it was the one someone told me years ago. It is interesting you are using the formula now. In some ways, this answers my question. If people use the formula now, and it works, when I finally get around to optimising anything I write, I will continue to use it.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Youngshark
Yeah yeah it is still acceptable and widely used as I stipulated above. I would rather you consult any instructions offered carefully.

It's wild that the same method is being used for writing articles, one would think that things would change with time and that maybe a new method would develop, but I guess if the system isn't broken why fix it?

I am not really familiar with that formula. How it works. I just type any word that I think and select on the given choices. I tried to research everything until I come up with what I really want to. Maybe it's best to use or try that formula to see how effective will it be. It's always a choice.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Have you noticed how the words you type in are usually short and efficient? These keyboards are damn important, and if a person is good in psychology, he can predict what keyboards would other people type in. It's utterly important. Same thing with my YouTube videos, I want to type a long and informative title, but eventually the short and efficient one captures the audience.

Keywords are a very important of SEO. Keywords are the ones which bring traffic to your site/blog. People who will search for the keyword will be directed to your blog faster if you include it multiple times in your content. And this will help in improving the ranking of your blog. This good old formula will work wonders if you practice it well. Just try it out once and let us all know if it worked out.

This formula maybe old but never outdated. Basics are very important. Learning this formula is a really great help especially to those who are just starting their journey to become a writer.

This could sincerely be carried out a lot quicker that what many people think. It's far all about ensuring you absolutely understand what search engine optimization means, in standard, and additionally ensuring that you are making use of the most appropriate tools to track your brief term outcomes before you get deep into long term campaings.

I know that the keyword should be in the title and in first paragraph since most searches shows the first paragraph with the keyword. I didn't know putting it at the end and at the middle would help also. Thanks for sharing.

SEO has changed a lot over the past few years, but SEO is not dead like most people say it is. It is still very much alive. And that't the truth!

The trick to SEO is to change your keywords to the most relevant and current terms. For example, if you run a movie site? Be sure to include hot releases or popular upcoming film titles in your keyword section often.

Yep you got the formula right and it still works like a charm nowadays. That's the basics in keyword optimization. It's very useful because it can br done quickly and easily.

Thank you. My conclusion is the keyword formula I was taught it still useful and we can add in finding synonyms. I suppose the one danger is stuffing the article too full of the main keywords, as that always seemed to be a danger. I once got t a request for an article wanting the same word so many times it was stupid. It is nice to know that for some, speaking of this formula is useful. I assume I am an amateur and not great at SEO so it is interesting to see that at times I know more than I think!

I agree with you that its really best if you going to set it up by using the keyword for something that you are looking for. Its more easy for everyone to use this specially for those that are not that so good online when looking for a specific one they want. True the formula is really great - a big help for everyone.

I agree with you. It is best to consider how one would be searching online and focus on the right keyword.

I really am glad that you have put this up here, as I am learning. The comments on this thread have insights that a newbie like me should learn.

The term keyword stuffing refers to the use of the keywords excessively like it appears many times in a short article of 500 words. There are examples that the keyword should be 3% only of the entire content in words so that the search engine will not tag it as stuffing. I guess your traditional formula is still effective since the keywords are scattered evenly on the content.

it's still effective even to this day. It is actually one of the guidelines we still follow. Nothing beats a tried and tested formula Does this SEO formula still hold true?

I think that there is a ratio of keywords that google accepts for SEO to still work and get you ranked. I know that over using your keywords will give you a bad ranking on google. I know that your keywords should be in the title and spread evenly through your article. Anything else would depend on google's requirements. As you know google has constant updates, as someone advised check out the updates at the moment. Seo like google updates keeps changing.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

jaymish2
I'm not sure. SEO requirements keep changing along with Google updates. I would do my research. I know that google also can rank you badly if you have too many keywords. There is a percentage of keywords that it considers appropriate in relation to the content that you are writing. You need to find out what percentage. For any needs SEO follow popular bloggers in the industry, they also keep you informed of Google updates.
