Marketing isn't easy, so you'll need to know what you're doing before you take your first steps into this industry. It's diverse because you can literally work in any niche out there, because it's based off of what the client is revolving their business around or what you want to target, and that means you have to be knowledgeable. If you want to build your clientele list, you need to have the experience and know what NOT to do to be a great marketer in this world. There have been hundreds, maybe thousands, of companies that have made millions in the marketing industry that you want to start tackling. To do that, and be as successful, you'll need to know what you have to do online in order to be seen in a good light and not hurt your own authority or branding along the way.
Online marketers will make mistakes here and there, but it's not too often, and it's what sets the greats apart from the part-timers. Sure, you can be extremely successful when you screw something up, but you better hope it doesn't happen too often and you have the knowledge and experience to fix the screw up before it hurts the website too much! If you just screw something up and keep on pushing forward, it will just get worse each day that the problem is occurring, eventually harming your website beyond repair.
In this discussion, I'll be going over the top 5 mistakes great marketers NEVER make, and they are:
Lose their temper online
When you're in the public eye, especially when you're working online, you will get people trying to troll you. It doesn't matter what industry or niche you're in, people will go around just to see if they can get a rise out of you, then they will point their fingers and laugh if they were successful. Most people can't see the trolling in action, but they will see your responses and that means you could hurt your own image with a few words.
You need to keep your cool, and NEVER lose your temper online, because if you do lose it you never know who's watching. Losing your temper online could lose you a significant amount of new clients as well as some that are already signed up with you, so don't do it.
You also need to keep your cool in emails and texts, because those can easily be screenshot and shared wherever the person wants to. Just keep that in mind
Send out spam emails to their newsletters
Master marketers will NEVER spam their email list on purposes. I say "on purpose" because sometimes they will let an email go out twice, but they will apologize for the problem, and most of the list will stick with them because it was an honest mistake.
People make the mistake of building their lists and sending out affiliate crap and thinking people won't unsubscribe. Sure, people will stay on your list, but they will make sure your emails are going right to the spam box lol. So, try not to spam your lists and people will appreciate your emails more often
Support bad products just to get a quick sale
No master marketer out there will push garbage products just to make a quick buck, because it will hurt their own image they took so long to build up. This is another reason they won't just send out emails filled with affiliate links, it hurts their overall business and it's not worth the small amount of sales boost you can get.
Good marketers will try, test, and evaluate a product or service before they ever think about pushing it to their own people. They will be 1,000% sure they like the product or service, because they want their own visitors or lists to enjoy it just as much, which will boost their reputation and authority because everything they post for the public is of high quality.
Annoy their visitors to get sales
No matter how big your lists are, or how much traffic you're getting, you should never annoy your visitors with random sales pitches. You will just hurt your own image and eventually your reputation as an annoying website owner will spread, hurting your sales and sign ups along the way.
I've seen businesses actually pitch their visitors as soon as they get to the homepage or sub page, and that is never good for business. To be a good marketer, you need to stay on your visitors minds, without annoying them constantly with your sales pitches lol.
Just "wing it" when it comes to SEO and Marketing
No great marketer will go at something without a plan and think they're going to be successful. You need to stop trying to "wing it" and be like the successful marketers who are planning everything out, each step of the way, so they can watch their work in action and monitor everything along the way
Stay on top of your work, just like the top 1% of marketers online, and be sure you're going to be successful without annoying anyone along the way and dropping your sales due to lowered rankings from a botched SEO campaign.
In conclusion
To be a master marketer, you need do everything right and be sure you're analyzing every step of the process. You can't annoy your email subscribers or pitch them every chance you get, because you'll just hurt your business model in the long run. Be the best you can be, build up your business the right way, and understand there are not short cuts when it comes to being successful!

After that point, selling would be much easier - mainly cause it isn't annoying and you have credentials. Nonetheless, it can be the case that people come in at a later stage in the buying cycle. In that case, they would buy without much preparation, and pay-per-click can often be that situation. If you do blow up, it will boost your traffic but your sales will actually drop. Think about it, people will see you getting mad at a troll and they will find your website to see what you're doing or selling, and they have no intention of purchasing. If your argument is big enough and gets noticed on a site like Reddit, you might be spending a lot of money for servers to keep your website up and running. That will cut into your profits all because you couldn't keep your mouth shut when a troll opened theirs lol
I've seen plenty of people in my days go crazy on a troll and it only hurt their business. The troll will always feel like they won, even if you don't lose your temper, so you won't be able to get them in a losing set of mind. You just need to let their words bounce off of you and move on to the next person who is saying positive words.
Sure, you can't ignore the trolls because their words could spread like cancer, but you don't have to blow up on them, resulting in nothing good coming out of it :( If you do blow up, it will boost your traffic but your sales will actually drop. Support bad products just to get a quick saleI see this happen all the time, even when said person is suppose to be such a "great marketer". They will promote programs that are basically verified scam programs just to earn a quick buck (most likely paid by the scam program to do so in the first place). Whenever someone that tries to give others the impression that they are basically a "guru" or "expert" in their field, then basically sells out to the highest bidder I have some legitimate concerns. Recently I saw this product being advertised online part of a network basically that rebrands and resells affiliate marketing courses. The woman was suppose to be such an amazing marketer and one of the highest grossing marketers on the internet, yet she decided to support a program that has some outrageous costs. For instance one of their products costs around $30,000 (it's actually $29,997). Who in the world has this kind of money to buy such a program. This marketer would get 50% of the sale price. Blows my mind the things people do for money.
