When you decide you want to startup a company, you think you have the best idea and everyone will flood to you, but that doesn't always happen. You might not have done the proper research and now you're in a flooded or semi-flooded niche, and now you feel it's too late to back out, so you keep pushing forward since you're not scared of a little bit of competition. It's good to have competition, that means you're in a niche that is making money, and you will be able to tap into that stream eventually when you make your mark on the industry.
It does take a while to brand your company, get a design idea started for your website, find customers, and pretty much anything else consisting of bringing in clients and keeping them happy. If you don't know all of these things prior to launching, you'll already be behind on what you need to do, which puts stress on everyone involved. So, to avoid being over worked and super stressed, follow the tips I'll touch base on below so you can watch everything fall into place and your company will be more successful with what seems like a little amount of work 
Always have a great business name, domain, and logo
Your business name is what people will remember when they're talking about you. If they can't remember your name, they won't be able to refer anyone to you, so be sure that you have a name that is easy to remember. You may think it's a great name, but the majority of visitors may think it's one of the dumbest things they've ever seen, so be sure to ask everyone what they think of the business names you're interested in using.
A great domain name will stem from your business name, so I won't touch too much on this. I will tell you to keep it short and sweet so people can remember how to type it easily, which will boost your sales a little bit
Your logo needs to stand out from the crowd, so make it unique, you can even have a logo designer work on it if you don't have any design skills. If you're going to make your own logo or have someone work on it, you need to know what people expect to come across, and this means you'll have to do your competitor research. Check out your top competitors and see what they all have in common, then use that in your own logo, or show your designer these logos as examples.
Know where you're going to target customers before you even launch
If you don't know where you're going to start bringing in customers from, you're already falling behind when you do decide to launch. If you're running a company, you need to know what is going on at every single step, so be sure to have your fingers in the marketing campaign and know where the leads will eb coming from.
If you outsource this work, you don't have to worry too much, but if you're outsourcing to a company that can't produce your leads then they will need to be cut off. If they can't produce, you'll need to do the lead generation on your own, and a good source of leads is usually Facebook and Adwords. If you run some PPC campaigns, and get super targeted, you'll usually be able to bring in some leads without losing any money.
Know what you're going to do to brand your new business
Branding takes a long time, so you'll need to get started on this even before you decide to launch. You'll need to implement your branding strategy into your business name, domain name, your logo, and even how you want people to see you through your content. Yes, your content has a personality, so be sure people see it as a good one and you will be able to brand yourself in a positive way
Work with influencers often and get them to publish content with your logos or links to your website in order to build your own influence. You'll need to do this multiple times with each influencer before it begins to stick, so starting off with influencer marketing as soon as you launch is always a great idea.
In conclusion
Starting a company isn't an easy thing, especially if you're online 100% of the time, because it takes an insane amount of work to get your branding right and get customers into your site that will actually buy from you. If you don't know what you're doing, you'll get overwhelmed, and eventually shut down or sell what you have started. You need to know what you're doing before you even start, this means you need to iron out all the wrinkles and even go over your marketing campaign before you start to think about incorporating. You never know what could happen along the way, so if you already know what you're going to be doing, a problem won't be a massive hurdle since you're already implementing everything else that works well

Family names are hard to pass up because of emotional attachments to them. I bought a bunch of family related names for my own purposes, but I've yet to use any of them lol. I really just didn't want anyone to have them and potentially ruin my familys name :D
Getting traffic is tough, you're in the same boat as a lot of us, but it's out there and just takes time to pull in. Some niches take a few months while others take a few years, but both require that you invest your time into it in order to achieve success. So, keep pushing forward and never stop even if you become successful online :)

I cannot talk about success yet because I am still struggling to get traffic. When I was starting a brick and mortar business, my father suggested using our ancestor name as the business name. I did not like this idea because the name was too long, but I could not refuse him. However, these days I like my business name because the meaning of the name is related to the niche of my business. Since I cater to the local customer, I do not have a website for this business, however, I have many other online businesses. While launching these businesses, I took a lot of care in naming, domain, and logo. My name matches the business names. I cannot talk about success yet because I am still struggling to get traffic.
