    How do you get customers testimonials and reviews?

    Hello everybody,

    I think that we are all aware of how important good reviews and customer testimonials are for any website that does business in selling. It gives you increased credibility and that of course, most often also leads to increased overall traffic. Good word travels fast so I am curious on what are the best and most efficient ways of acquiring these things.

    Help me out. How do you get customers testimonials and reviews? I want something that really works.

    So called "word of mouth" is best kind of free advertising, so testimonials are good potential to gain more customers and make current ones to become regular repeating customers too. I usually ask my customers to write their reviews and leave feedback at the end of service delivery. Sometime even ask for it after sale, when possible. Most of them however get lost after they receive what they pay for, but some are very valuable and fulfill my request. Offering some kind of discount on next purchase if they leave positive feedback is also good idea ;)

    Oh, so you just simply ask them nicely after they've done purchasing? I didn't even think of that one... I just assumed that you can use some secret methods of making it more attractive but yeah. The discount idea is very clever. I think that it will motivate them not only to leave reviews but also to purchase more. That's very helpful, thank you!

    Whenever I would finish a wedding video or a photoshoot for someone, I would drop them a message when I finished working on their product. So when it came time for me to mail DVD's, jump drives, or whatever, I'd send an email to my client asking what method would be best for me to get them their product, and then say something along the lines of "I'd love to hear what you thought of my services, and would appreciate it if you'd leave feedback for me on my site.     More often than not, couples would leave reviews and ratings for me on the freelancing site I used. I also posted the link on my business Facebook page when I joined the site, and I had two or three previous clients offer to leave me reviews when I did that. It really means a lot when someone who used my services months prior offer to leave a review without being asked!

    That is the best thing that a freelancer or someone who owns a business and services could possibly receive in terms of reviews. Not every clients and customers would often leave reviews without being asked to and this right here really warms the heart of an entrepeneur just like yourself. How do you get customers testimonials and reviews?

    Exactly, asking for an opinion from your clients is super important for business. You just have to ask them nicely. Usually, I like to read the opinion from others, check the site reputation, before getting in contact with them. Believe me, good reviews attract more clients for sure.

    Hallo When I started freelacing I always gave my best to the works I was given to accomplish without caring much about the price because all I wanted was a good starting by building a name first with good ratings :-)
    And Ibelieve that giving the best service to clients is the best way to attract positive testimonials and good ratings for whatever business you do.

    You can always ask them nicely but it's not certain all the time because some doesn't want to for whatever reason, or probably they would just forget to give one. There are workarounds in order to get them to rate or give you reviews though. One that has a higher chance would be to make "pop up" display after they hit the "x" button or close the tab or page - assuming that you are using a website or a blog. You can put in there a rating ranging from 1 to 5 stars and a small comment box. That usually does the trick and they would feel obligated but they can always prefer not to do it at all.

    I have testimonials option on my site. And I ask the customers to display the testimonials by commenting. So that does work out in some cases. But you must have to filter through some bad feedback. You have to instead invest through other means. Like say get them to use contact form and discuss the stuff. That part always works out. Atleast testimonial module in wordpress can be helpful.

    I think simply having a space on your blog or website exclusively for reviews would be a good thing to do. You could leave a space just for feedback and request it somewhere on your page so that people know they can leave reviews for you. It might be very helpful for users of your product to share their experience.

    Customers reviews and testimonials are fully depends on your service based work. If your service is well than you will get testimonial. If your service is bad to customer than you will get bad reviews. It will be your personal analyzation that which are the factors customer love mostly for getting happy. If you always try to makes happy of your customer- than your customer will give you testimonials and good reviews.

    You need to ask for it but not too quickly…after purchase. Those online,post-checkout popups are annoying. Imagine leaving the counter of a store with your purchase and someone jumps in front of you to ask you for a review. Don’t do something similar on your website but do send that email the same day.

    Yeah, you make a good point and I agree. If we are too aggressive or ask for a review too fast they might take it as overly pushy and annoying - it could lead to negative review and not a positive one.

    But I still think that mentioning review after purchase might be better than sending it within the e-mail. Some people ignore e-mails or put them into spam folders. I am not sure, it's quite tricky to find the ''right'' way that will yield the best results.

    What type of a service do you have? If you have some sort of an e-commerce website then you could encourage customers to leave testimonials and reviews by offering them some sort of a discount on their current purchase or on their next purchase. Everyone loves a good discount so that would be the best way to attract them to leave a review. But be careful as they may end up just leaving good reviews in exchange for the discount, this might be a problem because it's important that you get honest feedback that you can then use to improve your service.

    Hey, you can get reviews through the app like you can ask such interesting questions to them after providing service. It is very important that question will not annoy them, it must be interesting. Interesting questions always attract the people to respond you. Soft intelligence introduce such type of app you should check out for customer feedback questions.

    As the saying goes that “you can lead the horse to the water but you cannot force it to drink” also applies to this topic. Indeed you cannot force the customer to leave a testimonial or review because it will consume their time. To be honest, I wouldn’t bother to post a review for the benefit of the seller unless he is my friend or relative. But I guess a polite request can do the trick for kindness and respect will never let you down.

    My approach is to make a request politely to the respective customers to give some feedback. Most customers will be kind enough to take the time to write some comments on the service or product delivered.
