Tips On How To Create A Marketing Video - Part 1

In this discussion I'll be going over some tips on how to create a good marketing video. In the last few years videos have been a great promotional tool or any type of business regardless of their annual profits. Videos are a cheap way of getting your new promotions out there and also doing some marketing at the same time. Along side that, you can have a ranking increase across all of the search engines due to the linking you do within your videos description.

Don't worry too much about how to create a good marketing video, because I'm going to go over some tips on how to do it right the first time Below is the first part of 2 discussions that will go over how to make a marketing video.

Be a story teller
By telling a story you will be bringing your viewers into it and getting their minds to focus. You will be targeting their emotions and this is a killer way to increase your sales. You'll be opening up your viewers minds and in the end they will, hopefully, turn into a sale or a dedicated viewer

Make the into stand out to catch attention
You'll need to hook your viewers within the first 7 to 10 seconds of your marketing video. A lot of people, roughly 20%, will close your video and move on within this time frame if your video isn't reeling them in. In the beginning of your video you will need to give them something they want like something funny, a discount, answer a basic question everyone in your niche has, etc.

Capture with your titles
Just like within the first 10 seconds you'll have to capture attention, you'll be doing the same thing with your title. If your title isn't eye catching then your viewers won't want to click through and watch. If you use trigger keywords for your niche inside your title then you're increasing the chances of getting a sale in the end. If you're adding trigger keywords and keywords within your titles then you're having a better chance at ranking in the search engines, and we all know that you can get a good amount of traffic that way

Focus on your overall plan and not just a single product
Try not to focus just on your product but instead focus on the overall idea or goal that your product is about or trying to achieve. If you were launching a video for something like a body wash, but you were donating a lot of the profits to children in need, focus on that. People already know what your product does, it washes your body, but they'll get pulled in when seeing that a lot of your profits are being donated. Of course you don't have to donate a lot of your money, this is just an example of how to get people to keep watching

Boring is never good
Your video can never be seen as boring or you'll be dead in the water. Your main goal is to never be boring so always try to be funny and energetic while getting people to engage with your videos.

Get a little bit sexy
Now there is a fine line when you're being sexy and when you're making a porno. You can add in a little bit of sexiness but make sure not to overdue it. It can be a good thing in moderation because it will bring in a decent traffic flow.

Responsive is the way
With Google going fully responsive as their favorite format, you will need to appease the search gods and be sure your marketing videos are formatting to mobile devices. The increase of users watching videos on their phones is roughly +97% every year and that just means more and more people are going mobile, so make it responsive every time.

Keep SEO in mind
Google loves new marketing videos and also rewards people through their search engine traffic through SEO. Be sure to optimize your titles and descriptions in order to boost your rankings throughout Google, Yahoo! and Bing. A ton of campaigns will benefit majorly from good video marketing campaigns as long as you're not over optimizing

Add your URL
You will want to be adding your URL to the video itself, not just the description of where you're posting it. This way if the video somehow gets ripped, you can still get some traffic from the URL shown in the video.

Make it educational, sort of.
Educating your viewers on a topic will always keep them coming back for more. It's a great marketing tactic to increase sales because everyone loves "How To" videos where they can get a free lesson

You won't always want to make these videos too much of a teaching lesson, but you'll want to give away information in a step by step way so people can keep up.

Add proper music to your videos
Music is a good way to invoke emotions from your viewers. If you're trying to sell something like a motivational type product or service you'll want the music to be uplifting. If you're selling something for Halloween you'll want to add an eerie type of music that fits the theme. You won't want to add some type of happy music with a funeral home, unless you're the wacky funeral home that people always talk about but never think to use first when someone passes.

Use your own customers video testimonials or reviews
By putting your actual customers testimonials or reviews in your marketing videos you will increase everything across the board. You will be engaging your customers with positive content from actual customers while also increasing your SERPs with proper on page optimization

Actual testimonials and reviews are extremely powerful when they are in video format

Thanks for these great tips. Internet users have little attention span, you will have to catch the viewers attention within 7 seconds. Furthermore, viewers also do not have lot of time to watch video, you will have to tell about your product in less than 3 minutes. Anything longer than this will be stopped in the middle way.

In the middle of this year, I had a casual conversation with some of my writer friends and video-making was one of the topics. It’s really cute to use a video as a marketing tool. However, the cost should be taken into consideration. Even if you are the one to make the video, there’s still a cost in labor because making a short video of 30 seconds takes a lot of time especially if you need to shoot with the camera to satisfy the script. But I’d say if you have the resources and your business is quite big then a promotional video is just fine.
