    Getting your page/domain authority up is very hard, we all know that and the only way you can do it is be increasing the number of websites that link back to your domain. If you read online tutorials from SEO gurus you will find a lot of ideas on how to get backlinks, but few of the mention one of the simplest ways of getting backlinks: Asking people in real life.

    I personally ignored this method for a long time. I always considered that my town is too small and doesn't worth going to online related events to bigger town just to get backlinks.

    Here are some type of events you should totally watch for in your area:
    - Meetings of bloggers
    - Social media influencers events
    - Entrepreneurs related events

    There are the three and most common online related meetings. GO TO THEM!
    The only thing you need to do is: socialize. If you are at this you won't have any problem in making new connections, new friends and getting new backlinks.

    You don't need to beg, you don't need to be obnoxious about it, just talk to people, offer your point of view, offer to help with things you may know more about and be a nice person in general.
    After going to a few events I guarantee you will have enough concession to get a bunch of new backlinks without breaking a sweat.

    Besides, you will also have a few new business connections that may take you to greater heights, basically, your life could change.
    Humans are still highly social beings, don't change that!

    Nice! And very true! Both about humans being social beings. And you can take advantage of that. Not take advantage in a bad way. But in a way that would beneficial to both parties. I was just writing a topic on attending local events last night in my post 10 Steps to Improving Your Local SEO Rankings. These local events are often run by or have local businesses attending them. And if you can strike up conversations with them, you may not only find ways you can help each other (blogging about them, and them blogging about you). But that would create backlinks to your site from theirs as well. So instead of asking it like "hey can I get a backlink?" which would probably be met with a haughty derision! A better question would be one that's imposed as "hey, I'd like to write about you, I can talk about your business from my blog and give you a backlink too. Would you be inclined to do the same for us if we did that?" Which would probably more likely be met with a resounding yes! Provided you had actually broken the ice first! That's the key, breaking the ice and buttering them up without them even knowing it lol. How real life meetings can gain you backlinks

    You need to be friendly with them. Basically, all of us are together in the same domain, so give people a hand, be a kind person and good relationships can start from doing this.

    For example, I made a few custom reports for a few bloggers I knew in real life, like a crawl report showing them problems and errors they never knew about but also an optimization trick for their images.
    Just like that got 2 connections and now I can ask favors. One of them even wrote about me and linked to my blog without me asking.

    Yeah that's it and that makes sense and just goes to show the power that one simple kind move can have for you when it comes to something like this and being able to take advantage of people and businesses etc but in a good way that works out favourable to both you and them in the long run.     This is an excellent submission Cristian! I can see where you are coming from how meetings in real life can act like a real life forum to promote links with other people. In addition, to hold meetings with a group of people that might share a similar passion on a topic or niche to bring effectiveness on creating backlinks. Yeah, socializing is an essential concept because if you do not post on a forum to share your link; how will you gain backlinks?     This is a nice discussion and suggestion because it gives you an opportunity to socialize. However, not all freelancers have the penchant for socializing. I have to admit that I am not into it although I am not really an introvert. I just don’t relish attending such events and meeting strangers. But I understand that a blogger’s event will be beneficial for bloggers not only in obtaining new connections but also in getting some insights from the successful bloggers.
