What is the future of social media in 2017/8?

What's the next stage, from your point of view, in the Social Media space from a business perspective?
I'm thinking if it is worth investing time and money in such business and want to know your opinion, maybe it help me making a decision.

I feel myself that social media can only get better when it comes to business. Right now so many rely on social media to get word out about their businesses and find that by doing so they gain a lot of exposure.

With more and more people turning to social media for not only business purposes but also personal reasons it will always pay to advertise your business and aim to hit a certain audience. I don't see social media going anywhere any time soon meaning it will be a permanent place to advertise for a long time coming or even to use for SEO purposes.

If you are looking to invest time and money into social media then now would be the time, it seems to be at it's peak and I can only see it getting better within time.

Social media has remained powerful in 2017 and will continue to be powerful in 2018. In fact, social media will never lose their power. Social media will be the most powerful. Social media are not only for personal networking but also business promotion and marketing. Social media is also source of free information. Since social media sites are free, their user base will continue to increase. facebook and twitter are very powerful social media. Nnumerous social media sites have evolved, however, facebook and Twitter have not lost their market share. The newer social media platforms ahve created their own user userbase.

I think Social media is till kicking and alive from my perspective.Judging from the fact that Facebook users has hit a whooping 2 billion mark,then Social media will still live on.

I agree with the comments that social media is the big thing and getting bigger and bigger. Maybe the pioneers in social media didn’t think that it will be this powerful. Look at Facebook and founder Mark Zuckerberg, he is already a name to reckon with that politicians would salute him for his influence. With 2 billion users and still growing, Facebook can be more powerful than Google in the years to come. Investing in something related to social media is a good idea.
