Which domain is better com or net

So I seen many domains most them been .com I seen a number of .net ones plus .org but mainly com domains. My question to all of you is which one do you thinks the best and also which one do you use . I really should have added .co.uk as well as I use .co.uk on one of my blogs . Rest of my sites I use .com as I know this is popular that is why I use it.

The .com and .net domain extensions are well-know, but the difference between them would be next:
- .com (.commercial) domain extension was created to represent commercial or business websites
- .net (.network) it was intended for organizations involved in network technologies.
So, it's not a good idea using .net for your primary business domain.
Instead, both can be optimized very well in terms of SEO.
Even though both were created with a purpose .com for commercial and .net for network, you can use any of them because no longer takes into account today the purpose for which they were created first.

Honestly, I prefer .com domain, because people already used to it and if you choose a .net domain, it may be entangled by users, and write reflexively .com.

.com has the most authority of all TLD's and is also the most trusted TLD of all TLD's too. That's not to say you can't build an authority and trusted site with a .org or a .net etc. But a .com is one of the most professional of all TLD's. Even though, once again, there are still some very professional not .com's out there. And these new fandangled TLD's like .plumber .store .cafe .ninja etc etc all serve a purpose today. Example being if you're running a plumbing business and call your site marios.plumbing or you're running an Internet cafe and your website domain is marios.cafe or you're running some sort of elite webmaster site or forum and call it webmasters.ninja or something. But .com covers all of it and people trust it more since it's been around since day 1 and was the first and original TLD of them all. So people trust it more although these days, with all the new funny and weird TLD's out there, people are slowly starting to come around to them.

I personally myself prefer a .com domain. I find it to look more professional than say a .net domain but not only that people also trust sites more that use .com domains. People nowadays usually think to put .com into a domain name along with say your business name or the name of your site so it's also a good way of preventing people putting in the wrong domain name and not hitting your site.

One thing about .net is that you can always purchase that as a second domain so as to prevent someone else coming in and using your name with a .net, they are usually cheaper if not the same price as well as a .com so it's a good investment. I have on a few occasions done this, purchased a .com domain and purchased .net as well.

Between a dot com and everything else, I will always choose the .com. Always! Except if you are going for specific country based domain, but otherwise, if you want to have a global website in English, go for a .com even if the actual name will be a little bit longer.
A .net won't hold the same weight as a .com, not from an SEO point of view and not from a trust point of view.

I think people definitely standardiz.com as the standarad for any website.i think .com is much better than .net but it donesn't matter in the search engines. It is also better to get a short domain name,so,if .net is the only one open,i'd go with .net

.com is one of the top Tld introduced early. So for that it is the most popular and commonly used. Although .net is not new and nor strange to the internet users. But I will go for .com. Although it will not matter if it's net or com when it comes to premium domain. But for a newbie that intend to go into domain flipping .com is recommended for fast flipping.

.com is always better but I think .net is also a good choice in any cases.

In my point of view, if I can not get .com then I would take a new name with new .com without .net instead.

Generally speaking, you will always want to go with a .com domain name. .Com is by far the most common extension. Most people's first assumption for your company website will be [your business name].com, unless of course your actual extension is in your business name. Plus, .com’s generally have the most clout with Google and keyword rankings.

The .org extension is a very good choice for charity or non-profit sites, this is its most common use. That being said there are successful for-profit sites that use the .org extension. If used correctly the .org can give you a bump in social credence or validation, as internet users could see a .org as a more benevolent site. But you will need to brand the .org with your site name, since as mentioned earlier, .com is the first extension users will assume for any company’s website. As far as google and keyword rankings go, .org’s will do well, though for most profit targeted categories they won't have as much sway as a matching .com.

A .net extension would be the last choice of these 3 options. It has the disadvantages of the .org extension, but doesn’t have the advantages. From the SEO end of things, .net is better than other extensions, but has lower google rankings weight than the matching .com and .org extensions.

Domain extension does not matter in SEO. You can use any extension, even an xyz and still get to the top. The key to ranking high on SERP is SEO. If you have done on page and off page seo for your website and web contents, you can rank top for any extension.
Search engines treat every extension equally, however, common people have high regards for dot com than any other extension. Extensions are niche based for instance dot com is for commercial website, net is for networking/technology, org for non-profit organization, biz for business website etc. However, these days people no lomger care about the niche.

In my opinion having a .com is a sure way to rank faster. It's easy to remember, it's the most used and it's well known. Most people knows .com and would assume that it is your domain extension. That's why most people would like to get a .com extention.
