Dear Freelancers and product creators..
I found a rather interesting topic yesterday. Well, the topic itself wasn't that interesting actually, but as I'm an "information" type of guy, I read most of the things I find online, and truth to be told.. - I get most of my ideas by doing that.
Today is not different. Due to the conversation and due to my "investigation" so to speak, I came up with something I want to share with you.
Most of you know that I'm a product creator and I've launched multiple ebooks and I've been involved in various projects..
The thing is, a few years ago, you rarely bought "cheap" products. And you never created low ticket products yourself either. - You came up with a fancy idea, you made a sales copy and you set a high price of $197 or whatever. - People did that on a regular basis.
Nowadays, due to competition and due to the fact that people online are more educated, things have changed. - It's hard and often extremely difficult to charge $197 for a product nowadays, and have a successful product launch, if you're not a famous internet marketer with huge email lists and clientele.
Further on, you've probably heard the saying: "It's just as easy to sell an expensive product as a cheap one".
or perhaps:
"It's better to get 1 high ticket sale, instead of 50 low ticket ones".
And sure, even I would obviously prefer to get less sales and earn the same amount of money as I would get from way more sales.. But in reality, that doesn't really work.
People are buying cheap services and cheap products. People are looking for bargain deals to get as much as they can, for as little as possible. - That's "the rule of thumb" nowadays.
So, as a product creator.. - Wouldn't it be easier and better, to create low ticket products, and make more sales? - Sure it would!
Expensive products often requires tons of work and literally endless of work before the launch.. Meanwhile, a low ticket product usually takes only a fraction of effort in comparison.. And you'll have a higher chance of making more sales.
Take me for instance, my previous ebook, FiverrClerks. 75 pages + a forewords .pdf file with a few pages... - With that amount of content, I could basically have launched 4, 5 or perhaps even 6 or 7 products, and sold them for something like $4,97. - That would've worked wonders, both for personal growth and experience but also in terms of money.
Just think about it. It makes sense, doesn't it?

Personally I would rather spend a little more and get great value for my money by getting a quality product. But it seems I am one of the few.

I've found the quality of almost everything has gone down in the last 10 to 20 years. The toys in the shops, clothing... everything is more of a consumable than a long term item. It really is a bit of a shame in my opinion.
Personally I would rather spend a little more and get great value for my money by getting a quality product. But it seems I am one of the few. Hi Andre. Yeah I have been thinking about that too. It does seem to me that people are very price orientated and it seems so many people would prefer to buy a cheaper, lower quality product than a higher end product.
