    Is banner advertising effective for getting affiliates?

    I am thinking of advertising my affiliate link and site using banners in sites that relates to SEO and internet marketing hence i did some research online and discovered some sites where you can buy banner ads for s low as $5/month.
    But my question is this; has anyone tried it before? And if so, was it very effective? OR do you think it will surely work out in getting affiliates?
    Please i need your response on this issue?

    Personally I have had some success with it but I went for active websites that were offering banner spaces for over $50 and I managed to get 10-20 affiliates from them per month. In the short term, I made a lost but they continued to buy things so in the long term, I made a decent profit. This wasn't for SEO Clerks though, it was for other sites.

    You get what you pay for, I don't think you will have much success with an ad slot that is worth $5 a month. I would increase your budget and go on more active websites.

    hmmmmm,.. maybe i have to drop out the $5/month sites and go for more better websites with huge volume of traffic visitors. thanks so much for your response. but i guess you will surely recover that lost that you made whsn your affiliates keeps buying more and more services.

    It will come down to 2 things basically. How the banner looks like and where you put it. As long as there's traffic and you have a good looking banner, people will definitely click on it. - That's natural. If you gain affiliates from it, is in fact impossible to say.

    However, "was it very effective?". The key thing to remember here is that if you're paying $5 per month, then you shouldn't expect results at all. - In fact, use it when you can afford to waste your $5, but don't waste them by using a crappy banner. - As that would be doomed to failed even before you're up and running.

    I would suggest that you look at it from another perspective. There's almost no "quick solutions" to bring tons of affiliates. It takes time and usually a lot of effort. So using $5 won't do you any good at all, most of the times.

    Thank you so much for your response, i thought as much that that $5/month will not bring in much. but i will try get a good banner and try it out if i can afford to let $5 go in case i dont get any affiliates from it. but i will like to know if you have ever tried using banners advertising before to get affiliates. i have asked exjordanary about this because he made use of banners very well and his response was that he didnt gain so much from it. but i will give it a try and see how it works out. thanks for your reply but i want to know if you have ever tried it out?

    No, I can't say that I have. I think I used banner advertisements several years back at some point, when I was new to freelancing in general and didn't have much knowledge or experience. However, I would probably not spend $5 for a monthly banner at this date. It just doesn't feel worth it.

    I'd probably invest about 15 times that amount and go with a good marketer who'll send my message to his list instead. That's a proven way and it usually ends up with decent results as long as you don't use a marketer who've been sending hundreds of emails daily to their subscribers.

    I've tried banner advertising before for another niche and it worked well but I paid much more than $5 for a month.

    I have been watching what Razzy has been saying about Banner advertising and from what he has said is that it can be highly profitable to do banner advertising on some websites however be careful when people make claims about their traffic because often they blow up their reports with buying fake traffic...

    So I think it can be very profitable if you find a good high traffic website. For $5 a month, well it is maybe worth trying out one month. I would love to know how it works for you since I am also starting a mission with getting affiliates.

    5 bucks per month for a banner? Well no, I don't think you will make a single conversion, not even a view, sure you may gain impressions on that add but that is pretty much it.
    People are paying good money to have their ads clicked, just look at Adwords, I don't think that a 5 bucks ad placement will do the trick and actually earn you affiliates.

    Although, at this price, I'm willing to try, so maybe you need to do the same, do a test run, you'll only lose 5 bucks if it doesn't work out.

    I have tried it in the past and it did not work for me. You have to ask yourself, why are they selling ad space for $5 a month? The answer: The website doesn't have enough traffic to increase the price. If you found that the website was actually getting 100 unique visits per month, would you pay $5 for those visits? I know I would not.

    If there was a site within my niche that offered an advertising space for $100 per month, with the banner placement getting around 100,000 impressions per month than I may consider it. Why not? If you do buy banner advertising make sure the website you are buying from is within your own niche otherwise you'll be wasting money.

    I have tried adwords, and their policy does not allow affiliate links. You can use the FBAds. And that also works in such case as well. You have to make sure to display those banners in the right places. And often that may not work out. So I think this is more or less of an trial and error game. And you have to check out what you can do with it. You can't easily manage the banner advertising these days. That seems to be my final conclusion.
