Hi all. This is for all those that want to find a way to protect your photos and images you upload and share to social media. If you're a business in particular, you'll want to protect your photos however you can and Blockai is a site that uses the block chain technology to permanently store a Digital Certificate to the block chain that can show that you was the original owner or creator of them.
Blockai for Instagram: Instant Copyright
I just got this as an email from Blockai. They have just released Blockai for Instagram. So now you can claim instant copy rights for your photos and things you upload to your Instagram profile. All you need to do is connect your IG account to Blockai by logging into the Blockai site and connecting your IG account to it. Then all your photos you upload to Instagram will be added to the block chain. I think. Or you have to use the #blockai hashtag for it to have an effect but you can import all your current uploads and write all of them to the block chain as well.
What is the point of this?
What this basically does it create a Digital Certificate which writes a permanent record on the blockchain. Then you get a digital certificate with proof so you can show that you was the original owner or creator of those photos.
What kind of things can be copyrighted with Blockai?
Anything that can legally be copyrighted can be claimed with Blockai. Per the U.S. Copyright Office, "Copyright protects original works of authorship including literary, dramatic, musical, and artistic works, such as poetry, novels, movies, songs, computer software, and architecture. The U.S. Copyright Act uses the term “author” to refer to all types of creators including: writers, composers, visual artists, choreographers, filmmakers, architects, musicians, and computer software programmers."
That's great Lynne, sounds good, it may come in very handy later on as you know what the Internet can be like! And yes! If you login to Blockai, you can drag n drop any files you want into it including PDF files etc.

If you login to Blockai, you can just drag n' drop any files into it to write them to the block chain.

Good question Cristian +1 to you for asking it. Blockai doesn't copyright your photos and stuff but it does let you prove that you are the original creator and owner of them by writing it to the block chain. And if you have done that and someone does use your images for commercial reasons without your permission. You can't sue them for that in a court of law unless you have copyrighted them already. And you need to pay to do that. But with Blockai you can use that as leverage and proof that you was and are the original creator/owner of them. So what you would have to do is send a DMCA takedown notice. This is free to do. You can do it yourself or get your lawyer to do it for you which can look much more official and carry much more weight. You can send it directly to the person/people/company who are using your images, and/or to their web host and even their ISP as well. This in most cases is enough to get them removed as they don't want to get involved in what could be a long and costly legal dispute through the courts. And most webhosts wont want that so will just remove them if the webmaster hasn't already.
So yeah, at first, contact the one who is using them without your permission. Send them your [b]Blockai Digital Certificate[/b] to show and prove you are the originator and owner of them. If no response then contact their web host. If still no response, contact their ISP. If still no response. Contact a lawyer and get them to do it. That should be enough and all you have to do. :)

I am very happy to learn about Blockai and since I am hoping to soon try my hand at photography and selling stock photos online I know I will be making a lot of use of Blockai in the future.
Can Blockai only be used for images? Or could I maybe also use if for my eBooks? Oh nice one Mike. I wasn't aware that there is a Blockai for Twitter so I will certainly go and check that out soon. As you know I joined Instagram just a month or two ago, so I can make use of it on Instagram too.
