Does Category feature (which cost $50) work?

Has anyone really purchased the category feature to feature his gig service high in category search?
i am thinking of buying it but i want to know if it is worth the price of $50?

Do you think it will really work out for me?
Or do potential buyers do category search for services that they need?

Well yeah! That's what it's there for.

Does Category feature (which cost $50) work?

By featuring your service, it gets it more attention than other services in that category. It makes it stand out from the rest of the services, which in turn gets more people clicking on it, which in turn results in more sales for you.

Just like it says on the Category Feature Service itself

More Exposure - More people will see your service
Increased Sales - Having more people see your service means more people will order it.

Of course, it doesn't "guarantee" more sales, but for all intents and purposes, a featured service will be seen much more than those that aren't and that in turn should get it more sales. You will have to have a good service as well though and your services description should be clear about what they are getting, what you'll actually be doing, and how it can help people. But that's just standard knowledge.

Go for it! If it earns you back more than $50 in sales and earnings from doing it, it's a win win!

But it's completely up to you really and only you can make that call.

I may feature some of my services as well. Been thinking about it.

It depends on which category your service is in. For an example, if I were to category featured my services (PHP Programming) then I'd be wasting money because no one category features their service in that specific category. All I have to do is bump the service, and the service will be first in the category listings. However, if you are selling SEO related services then yes it could work. Just remember once you category feature a service, bump it as often as you can to stay at the top of the listings.

Some users only category feature, because it's much cheaper than to do the index featuring, and have good results. You could always test drive the category feature, but remember that there is no refunds on official ionicware services. I say give it a try, and see how the results work for you.

wow,. so good to see everett a support staff commenting. thanks for your response. concerning this issue, does one need to be bumping his services again regularly so as to be the top in category listings? or does his service still top the category if a potential buyer do a search for the gig service he is looking for even without bumping?. i will also try to make sure i will my service is in the right category whenever i am ready to category feature it.

I believe you don't need to bump if you have a category feature spot. As I understand it category features will always show before bumps.

You should always bump your services, no matter if you have it category featured or not. The reason? - Category feature will push your service at the top of a specific category and a bump will push your service to the top of the front page.

I have used only paid bumps so far, so I can't give you a real feedback about the category feature. Do some research first, but before doing research you should make sure that your service is in the right category. For example, I would analyze other services that are in the same category with my service to see if they're getting orders, and if there are sellers which are selling the same thing as me, doing that would help me to see if my service needs some improvements before purchasing the cat feature . In the end everything depends on your service, but also I'm pretty sure that the category should work perfect.

I never tried it. It is a bit pricey for me, however if you can afford it I believe that it is a very good way to drive more sales your way as your services would be appearing very prominently on the site which is visited by thousands of people.

Obviously you cannot say that it is going to be successful for sure. There is no guarantee as it will also depend on the competition over there and on your service, but there is obviously nothing wrong in giving it a try. Consider it as a marketing expense.

Worth the price? - That depends.
Work for you? - That depends.
Potential buyers will always browse different categories, no matter if they use the search function too or not.

So, let's dive into this a bit further. What kind of service are we talking about? - How much will you charge for it and do you have feedbacks on it? - Is it a new or an existing service you want to feature? - Do you have the $50 investment and would you be okay in case you lost it?

I would answer these questions if I were you.. And if you come up with good answers, then I'd say "GO FOR IT!"

Thank you very much,.i will try t ponder over these questions that you have laid down for me to check and answer and see if i can come out with a satisfactory answers for myself. if i am satisfied with my answers, then i will go for it but if i can see someone who has bought the category feature for his service, i would love to hear from him about his experience,; if it is worth buying.

I bought the featured category a long time ago. All you need to know is that you won't lose any money if you already have a service that got more than 20 positive reviews it means its good enough to be featured and people will buy it.

So you will definitely recover your investment, no doubt about that, the only problem will be how much profit you are going to get. If your service is good enough you will make decent profit and I assure you that you will buy the featured category service again, but to be honest, the option of making a little profit with a lot of work involved is also possible, you'll just have to test and see how it goes!

That is really very true. but did it really work out very well for you?. did you get your money back and still make profit no matter how small. please i would love to hear more form you. from the look of things, its like one need to ue a service that has some good positive reviews so a to get buyers within the period to cover up the cost and gain profit too. thanks for your comment.

This is a great tool to use for marketing your services. I have used it many times and with great success. I have been here on Seoclerks for over 3 years and i have used some of the marketing tools they offer. What is my experience with the category feature? When i purchase this service i see an increase in my sales usually i make the $50 back or close to it. The service is not magic and it will not make people buy your service. You have to be diligent in making sure you have a clear description and that your price is fair. Its true that when you category feature you service more people will see it but you have to make sure its appealing to the potential clients. So before you your ready to purchase this for marketing make sure your service is a good one. This is an awesome topic thanks for sharing!
