Write the reason you're deleting this FAQ
I have heard that targeting similar keywords but on different pages can be detrimental to your rankings so I need some guidance here.
I run a baby competition every month on my blog so I post when a new competition is up, then I post the top 20 in the competition, a week later the top 10 and then the last week I post the winner. This is 4 posts a month with the word "baby competition" in it.
Is this going to have a negative effect on my website and if so how can I work around it?
I don't target the keyword "baby competition" on its own at all. I target "baby competition september 2016" then "top 20 baby competition september 2016" etc.
Please advise!

The way around it is to make sure each page does have unique content on it. Or, instead of creating a new post/page that use those keywords once again, is to add them to an existing post/page as an update. That opens a whole other can of worms though as Google doesn't like it if you change the timestamp of a post too much as it can seem like you're doing it to get Google to crawl that content again. But if you're only doing that once a month and you are adding new content to that page each time, it shouldn't be or turn into a problem for you.
Just monitor your rankings for those posts/pages where you are using those keywords that you do want to rank for.
