Ok so I have been very resistant to using Instagram since I have never liked using my phone for apps. I like to use my phone as little as possible and leave it for urgent phone calls.
I am not quite sure when this happened because I used to love being connected with people. It probably has something to do with the fact that since I started working online I am constantly connected with so many people that when I am finished work I like to turn off my laptop and that's it, I am "disconnected.
Anyway back to Instagram. Within a few days of joining I have 166 followeres and I have posted 17 times. I have followed a good few people and liked some images. I have had one hit on my website from Instagram.
I have found that most of the users I come across are women, which is cool because the website I added in my profile is my mommy blog so it is women I want to connect with.
Instagram is quite fun and I am getting into the swing of things, trying different types of posts.
I can see that people like pics of kids, of food and of plants. Yes strange isn't it? I have just taken pics of whatever is closest and happening in my life.
Here are the pics that were the most liked:
First place - a pic of my daughter laughing with 22 likes.
Second place is a pic of my cherry tomato and marigold plants..
In Third place we have my two kids looking cute...
And here in fourth place we have my daughter's breakfast this morning. It looked tasty so I took a pic and up it went...
I have to admit I am enjoying this and I am enjoying trying to see what is popular and playing around with it. It seems like people like the black and white pics but for my plants and the breakfast I wanted the brightness so I never went black and white.
What have you found works on Instagram? And how much traffic do you get from Instagram?
One more thing...
I've noticed that people on instagram like pictures of kids, food, plants, motivational quotes, expensive things (watches, yachts, cars, houses, etc.) If you post about those and use the method I mentioned above, you should be able to dominate your niche :D
The only problem though, I don't know how easy it would be to post about yachts, expensive cars and watches for your niche lol :D

Now Instagram is really cool, even though I'm not too much active there, I really like to browse on it, and fortunately I'm not selfie addicted like my friends that post every single min a new selfie, I don't know what's wrong with them lol
Recently I've created a business instagram account, and I'm trying to build up some organic followers on my niche, probably my account is posting photos right now as everything is automated. :D

Anything and everything! When you follow a lot of people in your own niche or even in different niches, you end up with a timeline that's full of multiple different types of images and photos and things. Things you wouldn't imagine seeing. But it's because lots of people take photos of nearly everything and post them to their IG profile. But that can be a good thing as well because it can give you ideas and inspiration for your own things to post. In case you're ever scratching your head wondering what sorts of things you can photo and upload to IG. I don't actually use IG for personal reasons. I have several accounts on it but one is for an old site I flipped a while back and the other is just for an SEOClerks affiliate site I have which I've shown you before and I hardly ever use it. I have some tiled images on it but that's it. But when I was using it for my old site, I was doing pretty well from it, from all the posting I was doing to it. It wasn't exactly easy getting traffic from it though as you can't have links in the posts, only on your profile the one link you're allowed. So to get much traffic from it you need people to visit your profile and then visit the link you have in your profile. Not everyone will do that as they usually just like/comment on your pics and that's it. So it can actually be hard to get a good decent amount of traffic from IG unless those people really like your pics and check out your profile and actually visit your site link that's on it. And for that, you need literally many thousands of followers as only a small percentage will do that.
By the way, cute pics! Keep doing what it is you're doing and it can pay off in the long run! :)

When you're adding tags to your photos, be very generous lol. You can add a lot of content to the description of the photos so use it all up if you can. Add your quick one sentence description and then load the rest up with tags so that you rank in the searches for those keywords. But that's not the only thing you have to do, you have to pick your tags wisely. If you pick a ton of competitive tags then your picture may not show up as one of the top 9 or 12 (I don't remember how many it shows lol). Pick some lower competition tags that would be slightly obscure to the common person but would fit in perfectly to your niche. These types of keywords are slightly easier to rank for in a quicker time. And once you rank for these lower competition keywords you will get more likes and followers who will begin to snowball your marketing and increase all of your images. Once you do this enough you will notice that you can now rank for the lower ranking keywords and difficult keywords at the same time because you're pulling in the easy likes from the lower competition keywords which will boost your picture for the more difficult keywords ;)
Basically you're going to use a select few keywords every time in your post to boost up your likes so that you can jump to the top for the difficult keywords. Use the easy keywords to dominate the difficult ones

I usually just copy and paste the tags into the bottom of each of my posts and I get 200+ likes almost overnight and then a lot more if the image hits the top 12 for the competitive keywords
