    What SEO Software combinations do you use?

    Anyone that works in SEO will know just how expensive the many subscriptions of the many SEO tools can be and I find it hard to believe that many subscribe to all of them. So I was just wondering which tools people people to subscribe to in SEO from rank trackers, Keyword research, link building, and backlink checkers etc etc

    Not as much as I used to! I used to use all the SEO tools. But these days I don't even touch them! I sometimes use ScrapeBox but it's very versatile and can be used for so many things when it comes to SEO / analysis, research etc etc etc.

    The thing is with most SEO tools is that they usually only build low quality links en masse but these days it's better to build high quality links by hand manually than it is to use some tool to build x amount of them over night. That's never good SEO!

    Some places still tout and promote SEO Tools and there are still a lot of them out there and they all have their own pros/cons. Some of these are Web CEO, SEO Powersuite, SEO Suite, SEO Studio, SEO Toolkit, SEO Administrator, iBusiness Promoter, Sheer SEO.

    Just to name a few. But I haven't used any of them myself so can't vouch for them. I don't feel the need to either as I think it's better, safer and much more practical to build links manually by hand myself. That way I am more in control and can be more picky and choosey. What SEO Software combinations do you use?

    I agree with you Mike, I think that doing things manually is the best and safest way. All these SEO tools make me nervous!

    Yeah well in the wrong hands they can be very dangerous. The sites that sell those tools, they give lots of reasons how they can help you, show lots of smiley faces and all that. And it gets people excited to try them. But there's so many naive webmasters out there that they learn the hard way after using them when their site gets whacked with an unnatural link penalty. Those sites don't usually tell you that or come with any kind of warning or advice on how to use them properly. Sure they may have tutorial videos on how to use them. But nothing on how much you should use them and all of that. Nothing. Manual is best. What SEO Software combinations do you use?

    Well they wouldn't share that would they? It makes them money when people think it can all be done on autopilot and rank them really fast.

    I am always nervous when it comes to link building. I would rather go too slow or not at all since my websites are ranking and they are getting traffic! I wouldn't want to risk that.

    Exactly! You know it makes sense! Mind you, that's not to say those SEO tools can't be effective. Provided you know about SEO and know how to use them properly. But in the wrong hands they can be very damaging. Plus the learning curve behind them can be steep too. By the time you've learned them and mastered them, Google changes something and you have to unlearn everything you've learned and start all over again!

    Oh yes Mike I know exactly what you mean. It is exactly the same as the Mass Planner software I use for social media... it is way powerful and I could really just go wild with it technically. But within a very short space of time I will be banned from all social networks!

    I only use Jaaxy for keyword research and then I use aWeber for my online marketing. I don't really keep track of my rankings and backlinks as much as I should. But then again I am a blogger, not an SEO expert freelancer What SEO Software combinations do you use?

    Thanks for the replies guys. Not all SEO tools are there to automatically make links though - I understand with the likes of Scrapebox and GSA Networker that is what they do but i meant other types of tools as well. I guess I should not have use the term 'software' as some tools are browser/cloud based.

    I love Pro Rank Tracker when it comes to tracking rankings, I also use SEO Powersuite which is an excellent bundle of packages that helps with onsite optimization, checking the quality and amount of backlinks, link outreach etc etc. Monitor Backlinks and SECockpit are another two I use. What about the likes of Majestic, Moz, SEM Rush, and Ahrefs?

    Mikey I was wondering what you think of Scrapebox? I know it can be used to create links but I wouldn't want to do that, I would just want to use it to find places to build good links What SEO Software combinations do you use?

    I looked at the price the other day and it was I think $97 once off. I don't want to spend that now. Do you think it is better to just leave link building like this for the experts and then I can spend my time creating content rather? You know like I have so little time in my day as it is and I think linkbuilding will take a lot of time...

    Hey Lynne,

    The good thing about Scrapebox is that at least it is just a one-time payment and not a monthly gig like so many others. Some cost kind a bit each month and when you add up the monthly subscriptions it can be quite a lot - fine if you have the customers rolling in but can be painful at quiet times. Like you and others mentioned - although it is sometimes seen as a tool that is a bit blackhat it does have some excellent alternative uses that are not as well.

    Probably a good idea to leave linkbuilding to the experts but there can be good feelings had from securing your very own highly relevant, high authority backlinks off your own back through some outreach. Remember that just one link like this can be more powerful than hundreds of lower quality links.

    It does not take all that long to do really if you have the right software as even outreach can be sped up through software such as finding lists of niche relevant websites, discovering all their their email addresses and then sending out emails.

    Of course, creating high quality regular content can result in links naturally anyway - so you should definitely spend the majority of your time on that.

    I remember when a lot of people used to use SEO softwares to create mass spam on blog comments. I don't think I know of anyone who does SEO that uses a program. I think most are doing it manually now because it's more efficient, and the search engines won't think it's SEO software spam.

    I would actually suggest to do SEO manually than automatically via a program these days. The algorithms changed in many ways, and I'm not too certain just how updated the programs are to reflect these changes, and I would be terrified to use one.
