I was wondering, what is the best PC configuration for freelancers that offer SEO services. Of course, blackhat software is excluded, we won't be counting those requirements.
I own decent Samsung i3 laptop, recently upgraded to 8GB of RAM and an SSD.
Since the upgrade I've experienced increased SEO productivity for my clients and the services that I offer.
So if this upgrade made things a lot easier for me, maybe upgrading to even more powerful laptop or desktop PC would improve my performance further? I doubt it, personally.
What do you think are optimal specifications a computer must have for a freelancer that offers SEO services?
Would you go for a laptop or a desktop and why?
Mac OS or Windows? If Windows which version?

How do you use a desktop on a beach Raz? Wouldn't you need a really really long power extension cord?

Oh sorry, my bad lol. Yes I'm running on HDD not SSD. That was something else I was going to say. My next PC will be SSD (hopefully). I've just removed a stick of RAM today as kept getting BSOD's and all of that. Have pulled it out like a bad tooth this morning and it's running better now. I can get these cheap (RAM) from my local PC shop but they're usually used RAM modules and don't last very long. But not doing that anymore looking for a new PC now! :)

I've got a Dell Inspiron 15R which is an i5. I honestly don't even know what all the specs are but my hubby told me that this laptop is most likely an overkill for the work I do on it. I like my laptop and I like having a nice one :)

Definitely Windows. Currently I use Windows 10 and it's starting to grow on me. I wasn't a huge fan of it at first because no one likes a new OS when they first start using them, but windows 10 seems to be simplified a bit for older people to get the hang of it easier. It still has all the same functions of older OS's, and even some pretty new ones, but not many people like change and that's why they always bash new OS's lol. I'm sure that less ram works just fine, but why not have more :D If you're excluding seo software than you don't need anything crazy, the performance only needs to be good enough to get you through day to day tasks since that won't use up much resources. I'm a fan of the i5 or i7 processor, but will settle for an i3 if I need to in a pinch. And if I have an i3, I'm not going to spend an arm and a leg on the computer/laptop since it will be upgraded shortly lol.
