Ok, when it comes to Wordpress you always going to need an SEO plugin.
Back in the old days, for a few good number of years my main SEO plugin for Wordpress was All in One SEO Pack. Until Yoast SEO came along and start winning hearts.
I still use Yoast today for all my Wordpress based clients. I've tried other new SEO plugins but none compare with the features and familiarity Yoast haves, I'm already used with it, even if it updates, every feature and option can be changed easily.
Anyways, I have the following questions:
I understand that everything needs to be updated to stay fresh and I will adapt to the changes, because I can't really do anything about it lol. I really liked yoast when I started using it. It was so basic but powerful at the same time. I just installed it again on a new website of mine and it's so much more advanced than I remember lol. It was definitely a slight learning curve, but it feels like they hold your hand through everything so you don't get overwhelmed the Yoast plugin basically lets you know if you screwed something up or if you didn't do enough work on your post lol I usually write up my post and then scroll down to the yoast section on the page to see what I did. I always think my posts are perfect, but yoast quickly puts me in my place and lets me know what I screwed up lol
[b]1. Which SEO Wordpress are you using and why?[/b]
I use Yoast as well and have for a long time. Like many users, I too used all in one seo but was quicly won over by yoast since they were extremely user friendly and I could just plug and play lol :D
[b]2. If you already use Yoast do you like the recent updates?[/b]

Definitely :D the Yoast plugin basically lets you know if you screwed something up or if you didn't do enough work on your post lol :D I usually write up my post and then scroll down to the yoast section on the page to see what I did. I'm using Allinone on some sites and using Yoast on some others. I like to use Yoast when I want more control over the on-page SEO and additional on-page SEO control across my whole site. But sometimes I just want to "set and forget" so I use allinone. It used to be a bit of a toss up which one was better but Yoast has had a lot of updates lately and has many more features. Even though it still doesn't have some features that Allinone have, it's very user friendly and they have a more hands on approach to improving your SEO. It's more for the folk that don't know a lot about improving on-page SEO or even for those that do and want to gain more control over it.
Yes I think they were well overdue. I think they have been working on it for a while actually and wanted to get it rolled out quicker but had been held back for a while which isn't always a bad thing as it's meant they've wanted to make sure it was all working properly first instead of just rolling out something that wasn't properly finished and crashed peoples sites. That's a big no no and the last thing they wanted.
Yes and no. I write content that goes off the scale sometimes when it comes to all the elements that make up part of good SEO friendly content. But they can tell you things abut your content that you might not be able to see otherwise such as your Flesch reading score and whether it's optimized for a certain word or not. But as said I usually write off the scale and post content that is around 3000 words long at times on my sites and blogs anyway and make sure it's all broken down into sub-headings correctly.
