Ok so we all know what online trolls are right? Simply put these are people that behave terribly online, in a way that is bullying and offensive to others.
Very often these trolls will target one specific person and be incredibly derogatory and nasty to them. Every time this person posts anything somewhere the trolls attack.
Trolls like social media and also hang around on online forums.
Have you ever been the victim of a troll? Or have you come across trolls behaving badly on your own website or maybe your Facebook page?
And if you have dealt with trolls how did you deal with them?

Haha, well yeah that's true Lynne, trolls are not always a negative thing, some people are famous just because of trolls. Imagine if your photo will become the next viral meme on Facebook, that does mean free advertising for you. lol :D

Trolls, troglodytes and Rick rolls. They're the scourge of the Internet! They serve no purpose other than to offend other people. They hide behind their computer screens. They do what they do in an attempt to fill an empty hole in their own life. Most often than not, a troll will troll someone else out of nothing but pure jealousy. Such as those trolls that troll rich people, celebs and famous Instagrammers. They can't even begin to see the same level of success as those people so they retaliate by trolling them. By leaving derogatory remarks on their posts and updates, videos and pictures and things. And in most cases, they are just petty, childish people with no real moral fiber at all.
Some trolls take things a level further though. Some trolls troll people who don't deserve to be trolled. Such as someone who has lost someone due to some tragic event that was beyond their control. Such as Jamie Bulger's mum or Madeleine McCann's mum. Doing that is just despicable on every level and shows the depravity of these people who have no real moral fiber or any goodness bout them at all.
I think anyone that has used any large forum or runs a large blog or forum of some kind has come across trolls and trolling at some point. They pick at things you say and leer you into a pointless waste of time conversation that only serves one purpose and that is to waste your time and deflate you so they can laugh and smirk about it on the other side of the screen.
The best way to deal with forum trolls is to just report them and hopefully, if the owners/moderators are savvy and quick to respond, they will just ban/delete their account. And when it's on your blog, you can usually identify what's a genuine comment and what's a troll comment and just not approve them and go one step further and ban/block their IP from accessing your site again.
Unfortunately, until we are required to provide validated ID, finger print scans, retina eye scans and DNA scanning as part of a sign up process to any website, be it a forum or some social media site, we'll never be able to truly get rid of them. But it's their antics that will cause this to happen so that one day, you wont be able to join a forum or social media site with just an email address alone. You'll be required to provide some other form of ID that can trace you back to your address so that you can be arrested for it.
Until then, please don't feed the trolls!

But like you said they always follow you but you can block or ban them. and if this is on your own website, use a spam filter as well. especially if they use certain keywords it may help lower it? Otherwise just ignore it and delete/block/ban the troll
sadly its impossible to stop it completly unless you know who it is and report it to the police. country depending that is - here in the UK a troll is officially a criminal and its against the law.. so if its a certain person constantly trolling you and you work out who it is you can get them arrested and charged for harassment trolling!

To be honest I just completely ignore them and report them to the website or block them if I have the control (eg I own the site or a moderator etc) . they want responses, they always say "never feed a troll".
