Backlinking, social media and advertising your website on any other website that is not your own is off-page SEO.

The off page SEO method that I can think of now is the marketing you do to promote your website. One of the ways is the backlinks that you can get by spreading your link in other sites particularly social media which is the most fertile area in the internet. If you have an active account in Facebook or Twitter, you can post about your website although you have to be cautious not to give an impression that you are spamming. The links that you post in social media are considered backlinks too.
