    Isn't Scamming just as much hard work as starting a legit business?

    The way I see it scammers most likely make good business people because surely a scam would take just as much hard work and effort as a real, honest business.

    If you build a scam website you need to know how to build a website, how to market it, how to get traffic and how to close a deal. These are all the things that you need to run an honest business too.

    On top of that you most likely need to be quite sharp to stay ahead of the authorities right?

    So wouldn't scammers make more money and have a longer term, more stable income source building a legitimate business?

    Scamming is much harder work because the money while, may be good in the beginning will never last. Plus you'll get the negative energy back 10 fold with, bad karma! ;)

    Oh yeah I agree with you on that one Webguuy2024! I have sometimes run into challenges with my business where orders were running late and I was so stressed out, I could barely sleep. I didn't even do anything wrong, it was a supplier messing me around.

    Imagine the guilt and fear you feel on a constant basis knowing what you are doing to other people! I would just never be able to do that, I would be a mess.

    Most scammers most likely make good business people?

    I can't see the logic in that. They are two completely different types of people. Scammers could never be "good" business people. Well they could, but they need to change their ways first. But while they are yet scamming people, they are not good business people! Businesses and industries loose out on billions every year due to scams and fraud. From large corporations to small business owners. And that means we the good people end up paying more for things due to them trying to recuperate their losses. In fact, if there was no scammers, no fraud or anything like that, everything would be a hell of a lot cheaper! It's thanks to scammers and frauds that we have to pay a lot more for things. And that applies in your TAX that you pay as well. The government looses out in billions in revenue every year because of fraud, and they make up for those losses by adding more tax onto things. So it's the good people that end up paying for it in the end.

    But your reasoning is right. At the end of the day, if they put as much effort into going legit as they did scamming people, they could probably run a successful and legitimate business/website. But I think the reason people launch scam sites is because they think it will be "easy money". In not having to actually provide the service or item they purchased. No admin to do. No stock check/replenishment. Just take the money and go!

    The thing is, no scam site stays up and in business for long. Sure some do make millions from it. But in the end, eventually, the authorities do catch up with them. And the more they make from fraud, the more chances they have of being caught. Chances are if they're doing that, they'll be doing other illegal things as well like money laundering which is illegal to do in itself but goes with the territory. How else can you explain where all that money came from? So they set up shoddy business's and say it's coming from there.

    But it would behoove them to go legit from the start. Unfortunately, people that do launch scam sites and stuff can't see that. If they did, they probably wouldn't launch a scam site in the first place. But when did you ever meet a intelligent crook? Isn

    Oh no not as in they are good business people, they are horrible people with just zero scruples! I just meant that if they manage to pull off a successful scam or serial scams, then they do very much have the ability to just launch a real business, an ethical one and make it work.

    Yes I agree with you, these people probably get a kick out of what they are doing and yes they most likely think that are incredibly clever and that they are making easy money. When actually they are doing things the hard way!

    Scammers well...are just scammers. You can't expect them to actually grow a business, not even the scamming part.
    From my perspective, for a scam to be successful, it must take very little time, otherwise, what is the point in doing scams if you work just as hard or even harder?

    You may well offer a real product or a real service! Trust me, real scams and real good scammers are fast, smart and secure. They don't huge amounts of time for small amounts of cash...

    Yeah that is true Cristian. I think that it would be important for a scam to make quick easy money otherwise like you say it won't really be worth it.

    That's typically what I always figured. However, you need to realize that most scams involve some type of referral/affiliate system. So they are not actually marketing the website, it's the users being scammed that will market the website. How they get those users is beyond me, or perhaps affiliates know it's a scam but think they'll just ride it for as long as they possibly can and earn as much money in the process.

    With scam websites, those owners, should actually try to start a legitimate business. However, for a real business you need business models that won't fail as most scams do eventually fall. So they have an issue because they don't know actual business models, or have no idea how to set one up because in they have been in the scamming business for far too long.

    Yes they do always have a referral system so they rely on other people to spread the message but even so, getting that first few people to jump on board takes some work too!

    I also thing that scamming (on purpose) is much harder work and require more actions then legit business. Someone running scam business must be much trickier then usual people. They bump into much more complications with customers, regulations and payment systems then legitimate business owners.

    they clearly just in it for money and dont care about people

    in fact in my local shopping centre/arndale/mall (depending what you call it where you live)
    there was one of them popup stands people use to advertise or sell products

    this partcilar one was a company called "ministry of savings" who claim to do a lot of hard work for customers to save them money and get the cheapest stuff. I queried out of interested and became suspisous as the guy kept avoiding the questions on how does it work how do they do this and not expect any money off a customer.

    I then gave them my old email address and old details to see what would happen and an old spare mobile number that still works.

    4 days later my email started getting bombared with casino adverts and i got calls on my mobile for a nicola as she owes the company 34 thousand quid. etc.


    so even shopping centres seem to allow these evil scammers... funny thing though... all the calls were recorded and i took further action and they ........ just vanished... never seen or heard from again...the company has gone........ and their website.......

    however, searching it in google... they just changed the name to I WANT PRIZES --- ran by the same twats...

    also... I never use my landline due to the famous scams you get... eg someone calls saying theres an issue on your phone and you will be cut off... you "hang up" then a while later you pick it up to find no dial tone.... eventually they ring back to say last chance and ask you to call the company back... only whatever number you dial.. you go to the scammer... as they NEVER hung up their end!

    Landlines are bad as the person calling you is the only one who can terminate the call

    in fact last week this happened to me.. odd number rang me and 1 hour later i thought "i never checked the voicemail"
    i picked up and heard buzzing sound and distant car alarm

    10 mins later they rang back trying to claim "a virus on the line stealing my phone line and i need to confirm details"..

    9 hours later they were still there using my line up to the point the provider sent someone to cut my line off and reconnect it to cut the scammers off..

    Yeah you are so right. There are so many online scams that get busted, disappear and just come back again, same plan, same owners... just a different name and a different website. It makes me sick.

    The thing I hate about some scammers is the amount of work that they put in on a daily basis to see that what they are doing works out fine for them. I always wonder as you said how much work they put into scamming people instead of using that precious time to do something meaningful with their lives. So, it's not a good idea to go into scamming for no reason.

    That’s also my take on scammers, that they make a good plan to fool people. I see it as hard work that’s why I also wonder sometimes why they go with the ploy instead of using their skills and efforts to make a legit site to earn. Maybe it is the criminal instinct that dictates their behavior on scamming. If you have received a scam email from an African, you will notice that the long solicitation letter was well-crafted even if the English is not that good. It’s not easy to write that letter to say there is a hidden money in an African bank and that they need a bank account outside of Africa to siphon the millions of dollars. Scammers have the skill but sadly, they use it for criminal activities.
